So I am planning to buy the Creative ProGamer G500 (http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=25&product=10814) speakers with the X-Fi XtremeMusic (http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=14066).
I was just wondering if this is a good buy? I know that the speakers don't have digital in. Would that be a problem/disadvantage? What is everyone's opinions and/or suggestions?
Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it!

Good sound quality, very loud, a decent buy if you are crazy addicted to sound. I personally wouldnt pay it though. I can tell the difference between a good set of speakers and a bad one... but to me its not worth paying that extra $$$ for (to me at least) that much of a sound quality improvement. Like these from a trusted brand name...

Half the price, great reviews, and either the same sound quality or very little in difference. (My opinion of course)
Heck, even these ones are great speakers. Not as nice as the more pricey ones.. but again. Not much difference in sound and way cheaper. I've heard them before and they are good enough to where they have my attention and have made it onto my shopping list for the near future.

But if you are really sensitive in the sound department.. I would suggest these babies. My friend has these and THEY ARE AWESOME! Worth every penny by a long shot! Beautiful crisp sound, VERY LOUD..eh, um.. EVERTHING! A true speaker system for the sound sensitive acoustic junkies to say at the least.

Hope I helped if at least a lil bit!

Hmm.. you might want to read the reviews on your sound card as well...

So where would you rate the Creative G500 speakers in comparison to the Logitech ones you showed me? I little bit below the Logitech Z-5500?
By the way, lets just say that I can get BOTH the Creative G500 and the X-fi for $200.

For 200 bucks? Psh I would take that deal! Thats like what... over $150 off? I would take it.
The Logitech Z-5500, in my opinion, is the best 5.1 system you can buy at that price. Where would I rate it compared to the ones you have picked out? Hmm.. I would rate yours, compared to the Z-5500, at a 7. That is comparing though. I havent heard your speakers in person.. but they look like they would still blow you away.

What about a lack of a Digital In port on the Creative G500 speakers? Any cons?

Any cons? You mean other than the lack of a digital in port? lol jk. Um... I dont know about that actually. I'll do some research real quick to see whats the dilly on the digital in ports on sound cards.

I think the only con about having no digital in is that your sound might suffer from interference and what not. The sound wont be as crisp and as clear as having a digital in. Which minimalizes sound interference. So... as long as you have quality sound clips then I dont see a problem. But I dont know that much about digital sound. Other than the fact that it is better. You can always ebay that card and get a dolby digital 5.1 card with the money you make off ebay.

"quality sound clips" :? What are those? Why would I want to Ebay the X-fi? It has Dolby Digitl EX. What is the difference?

Anyways, I just ordered the Creative ProGamer G500 5.1 speakers last night. Had a bit of trouble. When I added them into the shopping cart, the promotions were all messed up. It was supposed to take off a total of $40 but it instead took off $25. But it is all resolved now and should be arriving around the 27th.
I haven't bought the X-fi XtremeMusic yet. Either way, I am still very open to opinions! So please feel free to drop a reply!

Youre not going to see much of an improvment with the x-fi over an audigy card. The x-fi gives you a %15 improvment over on-board sound. That not much in my opinion. I would go for an audigy platinum/pro/4 and save yourself a bunch of money. Not to mention you could get one of thoes cool I/O panels aswell.

Is that 15% improvement over onboard sound concerning fps or sound quality? I've been thinking about that, but I have somewhat frequently seen the X-fi XtremeMusic going for about $60-$80 after mail-in rebates. I'll think more about it today. Thanks for your suggestion and for reminding me :)
