computer running slow

My computer has started to run slower then it did when i first got... this is what i have.

ASUS p5wd2
intel p4 775
2x super talent mem @ 1g
x1300 PCIe
160gb HDD sata II

So the computer is running slow at start up i have stopped any program that open start up ( with the exception of like the printer software and win amp the ATI tool (which doesnt work with x1300 atleast mine)) Also after running useing Azures for a little while my computer with slow way down! any ideas on what i shoud do?

thanks alot dave i havent been able to try anything yet becuase i am working 12's but i will try tonight.
