Hey y'all!

In my abode currently I have a television right next to my rig. I've been looking at tv tuners and decided to pose the question here, as I'm pretty unfamiliar with the topic and TBCS has helped me in the past. What I want to do is the following things:
1) Watch movies and things that I have on my computer on my television.
2) Record programs off the television onto my computer.
3) Number 2, preprogrammed and prearranged, like TiVo.

Questions:
-What is the best solution to this problem?
-What kind of hardware/software is recommended?
-What are other people's TV<>Comp issues?

Have a browse here. I have had a tv card from here for about a year and it is brilliant.

Well, you could do a whole bunch of things.
To integrate everything you need in one card get an ATI All-in-Wonder graphics card.
Otherwise you can get two different cards:
First, any graphics card with an svideo output.
Second, a TV Card; I'd recommend these:
Hauppage PVR Series (Especially the 500)
ATI TV Wonder (I have the 650, which can do HDTV)
but there are many others that are good.

Hope that helps...

Edit: If you want the recording interface of Tivo you can either get Windows Media Center Edition or use Guidestar Plus if you get an ATI card.

I currently am running a radeon x850 for my monitor, would the aver card work together with that?

I don't see why it wouldn't ;)
