View Full Version : So here's what I have picked out for a computer
I keep changing all kind of things, but I think I've settled on it now. I downgraded a few things (CPU and GPU mostly) from what I originally had, but now I'm able to throw in a 24 inch moniter as well.
Here it is. (http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=3572225)
Anything you guys would suggest be different about it? I've heard some bad things about that case, but it's basically a temporary one for me for now. Once I save up more money, I plan to extremly mod it, and buy a new case as a skeleton for my mod.

damn thats quite the beast of a pc. with a machine that big, you should run a custom case.

for your mobo get the asus p5w Dh Deluxe, its the best mobo for the conroes.
Also if you wanna save some money get the e6600 and just overclock it a little the price difference is not worth the speed increase. And for your video card get a x1900xtx and with the cash you save get a watercooling system.
I actually originally had the p5w Dh Deluxe picked out, but went with this one because it supports SLI. I think I'll stick with the e6700 and overclock it, I already downgraded from the X6800. I also have about another $300 left, but didn't want to spend it all.

with hacked drivers you can use the board for sli
Also why not get a 7950gtx2 or whatever its called, the card with two cards in one. It runs about 500 dollars
That board dosen't support the Nvidia 7950 GX2 cards,
and why bother using hacked drivers, you will lose stabilty. Thats a nice system, the new intels are not bad, i personally would go AMD, but its upto you.
That is a good system BTW.
I originally had the 7950GX2 picked out, but the 7900GTX is still good, though I do need a lot of power as I'll be doing stuff like 3D rendering. I myself would've gone with AMD as well, but this is supposed to be more powerful.

Once I save up more money, I plan to extremly mod it, and buy a new case as a skeleton for my mod.
So if I am reading this right, you will have 2 cases? Why don't you just buy the "skeleton case" and mod that when you got the money? That way you don't have to spend $70 on the Sunbeam case and then $xx on another case.
I'll be fine with buying this and then another later.
My account balance is now $3,126.93 and I'm about to buy it. Any last minute input?
Right now I'm trying to decide if I should get the current motherboard or the P5W DH DELUXE. Or if I should get the 7950GX2 instead of the 7900GTX, or maybe I should get an ATI. Help me decide quickly people!
Okay, so I was able to purchase it yet, but will VERY soon. I'm decided on everything but am now having second thoughts about the motherboard. I made another thread about it here http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4292
if your doing alot of intensive work on this, you might want another hdd, and raid them... just incase something happens and you dont find yourself lost
So I've changed the motherboard and video card, now I'm thinking of not getting the moniter and adding watercooling. Any sugegstions for the water cooling?

get a custom kit from danger den. Also make sure to get 1/2" barbs and tubes.
Actually, I'll just order the computer for now, and add watercooling later.
