A) Bondo - Putty Filler 8)

- Are these two the same thing? I saw some cans of putty filler in auto shops but I cant seem to find Bondo locally.

- Does Bondo or putty filler stick to wood (esp plywood) or plexi?

B) Paint (i cant seem to differentiate them, so many types @_@)

- What can I use to paint on bondo?

- Any specific terms to use when buying those paint for airbrush?

- The little bottles of powder paint Paul used for Doom 3 mod, what do they call those?

Thanks in advance! :D

I can help you out with the bondo Q.
I was also curious at first about what it is, after seeing the alien fossil mouse mod. So i asked around(here and here..around my home) and found out that when you go and ask for car body filler, u should ask for one that is really easy to work with after it solidifies.. so, it most be highly sandable..
if u need bondo for strenght work, ask for fiber reinforced bondo/car body filler. This is fiberish and after it sets it is much more durable, but harder to shape.. which is relative of course.. who knows what tools and determination you might have ;)

Thx for the info dgrmkr (thats kinda hard to type). Ahhh the last question on the paint part can be skipped. I'm so noob I didnt know there's a comment thread for Paul's mod (and I read bout Doc O Brien's paint from there)

For painting metal and bondo, most decent automotive spays will be fine.
For plastic you need to be a little more careful but as i have never painted plastic...

You should spray a primer as well if using bondo

Ah primer.. I read a couple of articles sayin primer is used to detect any holes or gaps in the bondo layer. Know nuts about bondo cos I've eventually never heard of it (didnt even know its used in Doom 3 mod either) till I came here. Yeah for metal i just use normal sprays the bad thing is it came off pretty easily when I slide the side panel in. Plastic, there's this "acrylic spray" or "plastic spray", but its bad to use it on vinyls, it'll seep into the vinyl and make the edge of the paint looks jagged around the vinyl.
