Yet another moddable laptop found! (zOMG 100mhz!!!111)

Hey

I just found yet another laptop in my room (I go to boarding school, so my room is seen once every 3 weeks :()

Anyway, this laptop has been sitting in there for ages, boots up into Windows 95 fine, and everything seems to work.... So I pulled out the screwdriver

Now its in bits, everything plastic is ready to be spray painted... This will probbably be my first attempt at case painting and I'd like to do something old-school to the case, I'm thinking the camouflage theme in 'hackers' would get a good laugh by anyone who got it (probbably needs to be more obvious than just two colors splattered everywhere)

Eventually I'll throw some retro OS on there along with all the old classic games, and i'd really like a theme to suit it...

So what do you guys think, 'hackers' or something else?

Oh, and goddamn I was laughing... I was trying to pull the roofing above the motherboard off for about 30 minutes, underneath I find a full sized socket 5 intel CPU, it was about 1/10th the size of the entire motherboard :P

go dude! do whatever you wish! hackers is just fine.. or any other theme :) or no theme at all.. let yourself go :) 100 mhz.. that takes me back :)

You could try Puppy, DS (damm Small) or Feather linux distros to give it a new life with that 100mhz.

I remember when the top-of-the-line desktops were 200 Mhz, like my Micron Millenia ^^

Yeah, but how could i make a camouflage-style laptop that screams 'Hackers' instead of just looking like a cheesy wannabe army lappy... or some other paintjob that'll give lanners a laugh....

For a laugh.... Paint it with the Hackers scheme, althought the base color in that movie was still the... puaj... beige :) And add some characters with military font or such us, like:

- 100Mhz Machine
- Slow TUX inside
- Under new 95 managing
- Puppy machine (and a sticker of a dog??)
- ONLY 100 reasons to use Linux
- My other laptop is in the laundry
- From five years and more (like children toys ads)
- Proudly LAN slowest
- Not Machine washable

ETC...

And maybe some fun sticker.
