I'm working on my first case mod and i've seen images where chrome shower tubing was used as wire sleeving, however i can't understand how they fit it over cables like the molex connectors or the mobo connector which are far wider than the width of the tube. I've seen it done so i know its possible, just not how so. Any knowledge or reasonable guesses?

you can remove the connectors from the wires, feed it through the tube-thing and then reattatch the connectors. with molex connectors that is really easy (don't know about the mobo connector, but I asume it has the same sort of connect-to-the-connector-system)

most modding stores sell extractors for molex connections.
I've thought this idea was a neat one before but the thing I couldn't figure out was how to cut the shower tubing to length and reattach a fitting on the end.

You don't even need a molex extractor, just a small screwdriver, or even a paper clip to bend in the clips holding in the wire.

Thanks for the tip, should that work with an atx mobo connector as well?

It should, yeah.
Wont it short circuit some warez?

Disconnecting and reconnecting the ATX connecter? You have some balls.

Nah, I've done it before, it isn't really that hard. Just be patient and take your time and mark everything off.

Did you draw a diagram and just mark the colors? There are like 10 black wires. I know nothing about that type of thing.
Ooh or perhaps you marked the wires with tags or something?

Tag em is the best. attach little tags to each wire which row and how far along from one side they are.
hey as for the shorti ng out wires EZ fix is to use the plastic shower hoses that look chrome.
No metal = no short
and it would even keep radiating signals from interfering with other cables. Plastick is an insulator.
And yes the whole molex pins are inserted and removed in the same way as mobo PSU connectors.

you could just make sure that the wires arent exposed. put heat shrink over any exposed pieces.
