Any projected timeframe for this to happen? Is it soon enough to want to make me return my 7950GX2 and not have a working computer? I could return this and get my money back, but then I won't have a functioning computer. I could always sell it when it's time, but if it's really soon then maybe it would be better not to have it.

Think I might want to return it then? Think I'll really want/need a DX10 card? That still means months until new cards, and I could always try to sell my 7950GX2 when that comes. Or I could just buy a new one and give my brother the 7950GX2.

Or if the store that gave the card alows it, you could return it to them, pay them the extra money and get the new car.
They will charge more for every month of use.

what do you think/now about it

damn now your brother will hate me

I haven't even used this one yet, though I did open it.

You may want to return it and get something cheap that you wouldn't mind giving up when DX10 cards are released. I bought a X1600PRO for $80 so that when Vista comes out I can upgrade, but still use my computer now.

I need to have a powerful card now though.

well that pretty much settles it right there then. keep your 7950 if you need a powerful card. its not like dx9 is going to disappear as soon as vista comes out anyways... vista has a dx9 legacy mode along with dx10. you just wont be able to play dx10 games if you dont have a dx10 card.

Well that's fine then. I don't plan on buying an DX10 games soon anyway.
