IM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW

i have been modding a PDA for a few days now.

and when i put the battery in, it snaped the little pieces that the battery touchs (to make it work)

so now i have this project ive been working on and its done (as my pda is dead now too)

im never attempting to mod again

well... is it possible to maybe fix/replace the broken bits? ive seen replacements done and i know that could work providing you can work with some electronics.

Don't read this as sarcasm but...
You're on your way to being a good modder. Everyone posts their triumphs. Not everyone posts their failures. Some might argue you learn more when thigs don't go smoothly. If you look back on other people's work logs you will see many entries involving bad paint, measured wrong, melted something while soldering. I bricked a motherboard the other week doing something simple. You live and learn.

Here's what you can do.
Assume the PDA is toast. based on that assumption you have nothing to lose by trying to fix it, right? If you fail, you at least got some experience doing detailed soldering on a PCB. If you succeed, all the better.

The question is:
Is it worth trying? That only you can answer.

Good luck on your decision

Thats why you keep giving up.

You think Thomas Edison Gave up over the 2,000 Times he tried to make a lightbulb but failed?

i might be holding a modding contest sometime

1. to give me ideas
2. to give away my unopened junk
(2000 feet of ethernet cables. some flash drives, hard drives)

Do you have a jigsaw? I've had better luck cutting simple windows with a jigsaw rather than the dremel. If not, just take it slow, and take a few breaks.

i used a jigsaw in my practice run (an old server side) and i had alot of trouble with it. (cant keep it straight)

but it made a MUCH cleaner cut then the dremel did

It does take some practice to run either tool. Just go slow and concentrate.

yea i was concentrating with the dremel..... i think i lit my eyebrows on fire

if you're having trouble keeping the jigsaw going straight, clamp a straight edge down beside the line you want to cut. then you can run the jigsaw against the straight edge and get a good line.
