Hi, I am new here, thats probably why you havent seen me around much :) . Now enough about me and more about the idea... I have come up a design for a case (See pictures below).

Those switch looking things are those military toggle switch's btw.

Now I am only young (Most probably younger than anyone here.) so I don't really have much money to spend so if i build this it will be gradually. Anyway it would be nice if you could give me soem feedback and some ideas to add to it and if you want i'll upload the Google SketchUp file. Thanks ;)

Do you mean the LCD screen? Or the moniter screen?

Edit: If you mean the LCD screen im not really sure. And if you mean the moniter probably a 17-19".

The little things down the bottom are supposed to be USB and Speakers, Mic etc.

I'm gonna go look on ebay for a case, that i can use to start this project.

That looks pretty sweet looking, you may want to add some type of etching along the outer edges of the side panel and the top panel, might accent it a bit more, just a thought :D

looks good otherwise

I might pick a different design for the window other than that boring square... Can't think of anything though lol.

I only see two fans on this case. What components are you going to be putting in this case, high end for gaming? More fans and better placed ones would be advised.

An idea of the internal layout would be nice.

Any particular theme?

Hmm... Not really (about the theme) and I may make an internal layout and the back part (where you put the plugs in) I might add a fan or two but its gonna be for my computer I have now (I will post the specs in a sec). But when I upgrade I will make it a very good machine because I usually buy good parts. :D Although I need to get some funds , not for the case but for my new computer.

Here are the specs...

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+
RAM: 512MB of RAM (Not sure what it is though, DDR2 or DDR4?)
GFX Card: nVidia GeForce FX 5700 256MB
HDD: 120GB (Not sure on the brand.)

Next computer...

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Or more :D)
RAM: 2048MB of RAM (Dunno what DDR thingo lol)
GFX Card: A good one...
HDD: Existing one (120GB) and then I'll probably get another 200GB one.

I was just asking about the internal layout because I didn't know if you were going to do something different. As of now, it doesn't seem like you have any fans to cool the hard drives. A rear fan would be nice too. Use 120 mm fans too!

Hmm... the computer I have now, I haven't added anymore fans to it. It seems to be runnning fine though...

Well, it is fine until you start upgrading to higher end components. And I am guessing your current computer case has a different fan placement, which makes a difference.

For ideas on your case:
-Put a fan blowing out on the top window
-Another fan blowing in on the front
-One fan blowing out the back
-possibly one on the side, blowing in (optional)

About your confusion of types of DDR ram

-Older computers, like yours (and mine :( ), use DDR ram, no numbers
-Newer computers, probably at oldest this past January, use DDR2 ram
-Video Cards use DDR 3 & 4, not the motherboard

As for when you build you new PC:
-Get a dual core processor if possible, such as Intel Core 2 Duo
-For RAM, get DDR2 675 or faster such as 800, 1000, etc..
-GFX only makes the card, not the GPU; it's the GPU you should choose by
-Currently (subject to change) for Nvidia get at least a GeForce 7600
and for ATI get at least a x1600 (ATI guys: please feel free to correct me...)

First off - Welcome to The Best Case Scenario!

Are you planning on building this case from scratch or moddifying a case? The imagenation is all there and I would like to see this case built!

As I said (unfortunatly).....

Now I am only young (Most probably younger than anyone here.) so I don't really have much money to spend so if i build this it will be gradually

But I will probably mod an existing case....
