"How to" Paint Plastic and Metal??

I remember reading a thread some where on the TBCS Forums that had a "how to" paint certian materials guide, But I can't seem to find it!? Maybe I am trying to hard and it is right in front of me? In any case, I'm sure someone will slap me and tell me how much of a dummy I am! :D

...and on the off chance that I imagined such a thread ever existing in the first place....

Pretty common question: every time someone asks this, they get handed links to guides on other sites. I'm not aware of an actual painting how to on this site, appart from ones hidden cleverly in worklogs. The worklogs are your best friend here after google.
