What is the best stuff to use when painting a computer case? Brands, Types?

I was thinking about doing a Dark Metallic Red? (Maybe Pearlescent?)

Well the BEST paint job has to be Airbrushed or Power Brushed. Generally same thing. I use Krylon Spray paint. Rustoleum Clear Coats.....

I would recomend investing in an airbrush. For airbrush, I like to use Auto Air Colors (http://www.autoaircolors.com/), or, if you can afford them, House of Kolor (http://www.hokpaint.com/) paints are amazing!

Airbrushing is the only way to get a truly custom color.

Otherwise, I highly recomend Dupli-Color (http://www.duplicolor.com/) paints. They also have a great website with a lot of guides and articles on painting.

Well if you watn airbrushing, A few hundred bucks + cost of paint evertime you wrok on somthing.

Rustoleum is a brand just liek Krylon. I only use Krylon or Rustoleum becuase there good solid companies, Sprays you find in Dollar Stores are nothing compared to Krylone ro Rustoleum.

Where would you find wax for an application like a computer case? Is it just parafin or bee's wax, or possibly car wax?

For a high quality finish I would wax it using car wax. If you use duplicolor paints or similar automotive quality paints and then follow the process I mentioned there is no reason your paintjob should be any lesser that that of a car.

Also, can you have what is like a car paint job on any material? Plastics, Metals, etc. ?

No, you do actually have to wait a month, and yes, there is a reason. During that month, the paint is still fully curing, and gases are being released from the paint. If you wax it too early, you'll get bubbles in your paint from gases being released under the wax.

That makes sense...

Why does it only take like 2 days when you have your car painted?

Also, how do you fade a color into another color? A steady hand?

They probably don't wax, they most likely just apply a clearcoat safe polish or handglaze.

To fade a color, just paint the first color normally. Then, depending on the size, paint normally for a bit until you want to start the fade. Then, start angling the spray can and slowly pulling the can further away from your work area.

Yes, that would be enough, most likely. This is 4oz (http://www.misterinkjet.com/images/4oz-4clr-photo-kit.jpg).

Just to make sure that you know, you will need an airbrush to apply that paint. Also an automotive paint gun would work. You'll want a HVLP gun.

Yeah, I figured I would need an airbrush for that. Do you mix that with something? Or is it ready to go?

Hmm, I wanted to ask something else.. lol but it seems that I have forgotten what that was!

Tips, Tricks, Things I should know as a beginner?

If I am going to air brush... other than the air brush equipment what all do I need? Specifics?

EDIT:

I am such a tard!! My mother has three brothers. Two of them live here. Guess what they do for a living and have been doing for many many years? PAINTING. They both own their own companies and I just now remembered... I am so dumb. Like wow. Also, my cousin who is like my best friend? Yeah, My uncle AIRBRUSHED his truck and he had a blue to gray fade. -HUGE slap on forehead-

So I guess this means I have access to an airbrush now. cool ^^

That airbrush paint you were looking at is pre-mixed and thinned, ready to be sprayed.

Talk to your family, I'm sure that if that's their business they will know a whole lot more than I will! I bet they have top of the line equipment too, and most likely can mix you any color of paint you need.
