Okay here's my new mod idea...
I call it "Toxic Waste" and I am sure a hundred other people have done their versions of it, but this one's mine. I am starting with a full sized older style steel case. Both of my sides and the top come off the case so individual pieces should be easier to mod.
Paint theme : Glossy : Red and Black sprayed from far away so they sorta become one color that changes when you look at it from different angles.
LEDs theme : Green (yeah, yeah, I know it's been done.. but not by me).
Window : I want to have a window in each side panel (why? to get more glow and also to lighten the case, I plan on it being semi-portable). The "far" side will have a smoked glass look on just a round window to diffuse the green glow around the area. The "good" side will have a freeform clear window (or maybe the radiation symbol) and I want to find a way to get the word "toxic" cut into the case and glassed as another source of light.
Details :
1. I found a lifesize plastic halloween skull at Target for 5 bucks, I split it, and it will go on the front panel. I painted it with my red/black theme but then unpainted the backs of the eyes and between the teeth so lights will glow through from behind. I want to get green EL wires to poke through the skull like a weird toxic experiment thing and also the extra wire inside will help illuminate the skull.
2. I want a big fan on top of the case pointing up with green leds and silk flames when it blows so it looks like toxic waste burning.
3. I also want to find some way to incorporate spray foam but let it just run down the sides so it looks like toxic run off... glow in the dark green paint or something would be cool on that. Maybe spray it up through the fan hole on top so it looks like the toxic waste fire has runoff?
4. I am planning on using a few toggle switches with red/yellow warning stickers and that sort of thing.
As yet, it is just ideas on paper and a big steel case, absolutely nothing has been done but helpful ideas are always appreciated.
