I just burned one of my favorite movies onto a CD-R so I wouldn't have to use the original (can't get it scratched ;)) but when I go to play it on my Television it says something like video playback not available? I still have a good stack of blanks but I just thought I would ask if anyone knows how to burn the movie so I can play it on my Television before wasting ten more blanks and giving up out of frustration and the thought of wasting that many CD-R's on ONE movie.

Thanks a bunch

er, the ability to play this is going to be based on whatever you use to play dvds, and the encoding of the movie on the cd-r. i think the generally accepted method is to create a vcd. google for instructions :P
and verify that your dvd player will play vcd's.

pfft :p there's a whole 3 minutes difference in the time stamps

just bored at work while servers get turned back on. funny how it takes them half a day to turn the things on after a weekend power outage.

one more thing would be to try and write the disk at a lower speed, it could be that you'r player cant cope or the blank is geting screwd a bit by the high speed

but first do what ajmilton sugested

well the easiest way to see if the disk was properly written is to just open the damn thing in windows.
if there's an .avi (or .mpeg or .wmv or whatever you saved it as) then you can try running it :P if that works, then you know you at least have a good copy of the movie and you gotta work on figuring out how to make it work on your dvd player.
