Yeah I was playing Need For Speed Most Wanted on my xbox 360, and it was verticle. So I got up and my ankle bumped into it and it fell onto its Horizontil position. Anyways, After that for the next 5 or 6 seconds I heard a buzzing noise (loud) coming from the inside, so I flipepd the electric switch down. Anyways my 360 is alright, it plays my other games, but it Doesn't Play NFSMW. Now the only reason I can think of is that it make a big scratch ring around the outside of the disk. Anyways, the scratch isn't that deep, I tried 71% Alchahol already, but does anyone know of any techniques or things that might clean it up?
EBgames said the'd give me 5 bucks for it.....:devious:
I didn't know where this belongs so I just stuck it here....

Get yourself a "disk repair kit" for like 5 bucks at any electronics store.

Yeah i've seen those disk repair ****, but I thought they where just a scam....Bastards bottling up alchoahol with a tissue.....
Do they REALLY work? I don't want to pay $5 for the same thing I have in my medicine cabinet.

Yes. It's not alchohol. That just cleans it. Who knows, that might actually be dangerous to the disk. I dunno where you learned to clean disks with alchohol. That won't do anything for a scratch, for dirt and debris, sure, but that won't fill a scratch like the repair kits.

The idea of the toothpaste and baking soda is to remove the deep scratches by making very SMALL scratches--this should be followed up with a wax or plastic polish.
I use Novus plastic rubbing compound for discs:
Novus #3 for deep scratches followed by:
Novus #2 for fine scratches followed by
Brillianize Plastic Polish (http://www.rplastics.com/brillianize.html)
Use clean cotton cloth for each. Follow directions.

I used toothpaste on my dads truck once when I scratched it. He still hasnt noticed it. I'm not sure if toothpaste just hides things or if it creates some kind of repair but I do know that it makes scratches disappear slightly.
I tried doing it on my halo 2 disk also, but that just made a big mess if you ask me. But then again, I am not sure if scratches was the problem.
You can always try EBAY and buy a new game. It should be pretty cheap on there.
Or you can wait for Need For Speed Carbon to come out for the 360.

metal polish takes out a good percentage of light to medium scratches. use a clean duster and move from the center out. don't let it dry and remove it with a different clean duster (or if you're cheap like me, a different part of the same duster) remember, never do this in circles around the disk, it really nacks up then.
give it some elbow grease too
