I was thinking of this idea for my mod but not sure how to go about it...
I was toying with the idea of a sliding (garage style) door covering my bays and drives.

Maybe it opens when the computer powers up or maybe it would have a switch of it's own. Not really sure.

My problems are...
1. What do I make it out of? fashion a miniature garage door out of steel pieces or what?
2. Where does it go when it opens? Retract to under the top of the case?
3. How do I make it a true motorized opening? I don't want a door I can slide into a recess. I want it to open like a real garage door.

Paul Cappelo has somthing like that on his Doom 3 Mod. Go to Paul Cappellos worklog and check out the world famous Doom 3, or Simply PM him, hes on daily.

Yes... that's exactly what I was/am talking about... I am tired and going to bed now but will pm Paul first thing in the morning when I can form a coherent thought.

For material, you could use a roll top bread box. Just paint over and it should look sharp.

Or why don't just use metal? Honestly if yu get a nice big scrap of metal with a few hobby knives and a ruler a garage door shouldn't be that hard.

I can easily make a arage door opena nd close with a few meterials from Home Depot and a small 5k RPM motor from radioshack or a hobbie shop.
