Harbor Freight has a Chicago Dremel Tool with several accessories on sale for $8.00!(normally $20.00) While granted an experienced modder would perfer something better, newbies like me might want to but this cheap tool to help us get our feet wet. I just purchased mine today and have not tried it yet but for 8 bucks it's hard to go wrong with such a good deal.

Also there is a Heat Gun on sale for $20.00, this exact product has been recomended in a few articles so i thought it was worth adding.

Yes unfortunately that fact is true, much to my dismay. I posted before I had a chance to try it and now know that it is extremely weak. I would like to extend my apologies for even mentioning it.

Whenever I buy something from HaborFreight I never expect to get anything of more than decent quality. Yes some of the items they have are decent, but a good amount of the really cheap stuff is well, cheap.

You get what you pay for. Still for $8 it isn't a total waste since you get about that much worth of bits :) ... I have spent more on bits than I have Dremels :)

those are good just for the bits, and the tool itseld it decent to keep around for light sanding, scoring and deburring, but they dont have the torque to cut anything thicker than paper.

Might be good for engraving soft materials...

I agree those bit will cost ya that much money if you bought them from Dremmel, but I get mine from Allelectronics.com (http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=search&item=DK-91&type=store) 10.50 hard to beat :D tho that set is pretty good as well.

are the bits in that kit of good quality Gutt? I saw that before but wasn't sure, also that same exact kit if bought from Grizzly tools is $30! so its a pretty good deal.

Yes, those bits are great, cut-off wheel post is milled real well, as the other shafts, and they add these rubber things to help hold um. It comes with a bunch of re-enforced cut-off wheels as well. That wood box is great too, has these white plastic sleeves inside the holes that keeps them bits from floating around.
