Oblivion troubles

Well, yesterday I was playing Oblivion when something for AVG popped up. It minimized Oblivion and all that crap and when I went to start playing again, it just froze. I ended the program and now today when I want to play, I will finish loading my save and then the screen just flashes between black and the game. I can't move anywhere, look around, or anything. All I can do is press Esc and get the menu. Any ideas why this might be happening?

...And now that I post my problem it starts to work and laughs in my face.
