Well it's not early '07 yet, but I doubt my room will change much. It hasn't over quite a long time.

I still have the same prodouct boxes, still have the same broken computer parts on my desk, still have the same computer and ****.

not much new to see, so i'll find an old picture or take a new one soon.

I would take one of my room... IF I could find that friggen camera!! lol

But it is only slightly different in the year I have lived in there. I think... all I have done is added a work out bike, a stand, and I changed the position of my bed. Oh yeah, I also broke my desk... lol. But other than that, yep, its pretty much the usual. I spend about 10 minutes in there every day other than when I am sleeping. then it is more like 12 hours and 10 minutes lmao :p

I'll take one of my new office here soon too if I can find that camera. Used to be my moms workshop/art studio area. So I hit the big bucks with that deal! Modders = Computers and Art. Talk about lucky ^^

You have enough batteries to power that entire entertainment center for an hour or two.

You need a new piece of furniture. I wouldn't trust that thing to hold my electronics.

I took some pics of my kitchen the other day because it was actually fully cleaned. First time in 4 months. I even mopped the floor, it was crazy. I normally would clean only the immediate stuff, like dishes and let the rest go.

I should upload those and show you guys what a clean kitchen looks like. ;P

I'm gonna end up cleaning my room soon enough, i'll get pictures afterwords =/

As far as weapons go:

Knife made from a Railroad Spike (I'll photograph it), One-sided blade.
Flip-out knife, One sided, kind of dull
3 Throwing Daggers, Flat Black, Evenly Balanced and small

probably some other stuff i'm unaware of =/

Yeah, it's pretty cool and one of the 4 i've seen, and the other 3 were made at the same time by the same person.

Anywho, my step-grandpa is a Blacksmith, so he made them one year for my birthday (i think i was 10 or 11, too young to understand what the potential of a knife was), and he made one for me, my step-dad, himself, and my mom's old best friend.

Me and my step-dad both know where ours are, nobody knows where Robin (my mom's old friend) even is, and my Step-grandpa is in Florida at the time.

As I said, i'll get pics of it, probly when i photograph my room. Too bad it's really dull =/

Nothing a Whetstone can't fix, though.

Ok for the Record. That old ass tv and **** didn't do that to my shelves. I left it out on the rain when the painters wher ein my room, And I had hammers and **** ontop and all the floods and turnado warnings raped my shelves. Look at under the black tv, it curves inward to the tv?

That black tv used to be top of the line in like 1999? The old ass one is my little brothers, aswell as the gamecube. I had party the night before so I brang in ****. My rooms normalyl cleaner. You can see my bottles from the night before?

I bought a box of those 60 piece batteries from a flea market for I belive $39.99, I snuck another box in ym bag on my way out hehe. They deserved it, 4 batteries is liek 1/4 of just 1 duracell.

Im probabley going to end up spraying the black one silver or somthing, Got to make it look futuristic, but it doesn't matter, TV and console gaming arn't my expertise, Long as I can play my need for speed and **** Im fine.

-Samuria, I like you're little fort under the bed. I'm sorry to say it man, but ur room and **** is fall'n down! paints off the walls? Computer **** all over you're floor? Lmao all you do is computer **** and samuria stuff? Well I envy the Samuria stuff, Intresting, but I don't consider computer modding a first proirity thing if you got alot of time.

The honest people don't buy guns, and any they had, they turned in during the 'gun run' earlier in the year.

Errrr dude I think your forgeting one thing - People in the UK can own real guns lol. My dad has several gun licenses enabling him to go deer hunting on private land using real guns with real ammo.

Also only the illegal guns were to be handed in lol legal ones (like my dad owns) are allowed to be kept as long as the rules are kept to. For example : Keeping them in a locked container in your house with a seperate locked container for the ammo.

No, that's just England. In Scotland, you can't have a gun in your house without some sort of special liscence-i think that's basically for people who run gun clubs and hunting lodges, where the club house is also your own house.

In Scotland, guns must be kept somewhere like a Hunting Club, if i'm correct.

But they're on their way to being banned altogether. Sorry guys, i'm not a pacifist, but guns make it all too easy to kill an innocent person. I'll never use one unless absolutely necessary, and i'd welcome a nationwide ban.

-Dave

gaz_the_chav
10-31-2006, 09:34 AM
Fair enough Dave. Thats what I'm saying my dad has the correct licsenses and only uses them when hunting. I didn't realise that you were not allowed to keep them in your house in Scotland. I to would welcome a ban I do not argee with people having guns. What do you mean by absolutly necessary though? In what situation would you use a gun. Personally I don't think I would unless someone messed with my family then I would be enraged enough to go out and kill lol.

Yea, we're at opposite ends of the spectrum on this one.

The point of having a firearm isn't to just protect you from the neighborhood thug, it's to protect you from your own government.
Who do you call when the police are running amok? How about the military?
Making guns illegal only removes them from law-abiding citizens. This means that you just removed the force from the responsible people. Super.
Citizens have to let their governments know who is still in control sometimes, the only way to successfully do that is with bloodshed, and the easiest tool used for bloodshed is a firearm.

I will never allow anyone to legislate away my ability to keep a gun. I don't believe in gun control and I think the laws against it are futile because they only restrict good citizens. Responsible citizens don't use firearms in destructive ways.

You can't stop crazy people from doing crazy things. Take away their firearms and they'll make bombs. Take away chemicals and they'll use knives. Take away knives and they'll use their hands. You will not stop insane people. They're insane.

People have a stigma about firearms because all they are exposed to is the movies and television. They listen to the statistics of how often people are killed with guns, freak out, and ask for safety rather than liberty. Liberty isn't safe, and it isn't easy.

If this discussion continues, I know someone will bring up statistics about how many gun deaths there are in America. I'm ready with some actual info to retort.

Pictures are coming soon. I'll upload them over lunch.

Is this really the way forward? How's about this: In Scotland, the police don't carry guns. There is a gun unit for those situations where someone is using or is suspected of using a gun, hostage situations, etc.

In Scotland, the police are on the same level as you: they have a baton and handcuffs, and a radio. Whereas the public have knives, guns, swords, etc.

When I said guns would be banned, I meant guns would be banned for everyone, no matter who you worked for, or what role you play in Society.

Oh, and for the record, your argument about the police is ludicrous. They're not a country club who get together and decide to beat down on poor people or something like that- every day they wake up, go out to work, and put their necks on the line so that you can leave your family to go to your work, knowing that someone's protecting them, making sure they're safe.

A little respect wouldn't be misplaced.

In Australia the police have 9mm glocks. Plus a sought of swat team thing the special proteciton unit can be called in. The cops hardly use their pistols though as if even one shot is fired a **** load of paper work and inquiry's have to be undertaken. They will just wip out the pepper spray or the taser instead.

Only really farmers here have guns and a few people that kinda get shunhed a bit they say shooting is a sport everyone else calls em gun nuts.

Also if you actually own a gun you have to keep it in a gun cabinet and the ammuntion has to be kept seperate in a locked metal box. Plus the gun cabinet gets checked twice a year.

Just my 2 cents.

How many mobo's do you own nil8 I lost count at like 1/2 a dozen.

The Sub Topic: GUNS

The main purpose and the reason guns were invented is so you can kill people from afar, without putting yourself in harms way. What a cowardly device of death.

Nil8, you should be ashamed of yourself for taking such a stand on somthing that has no other purpose than to kill or incite the fear of death.

Here's somthing for you to retort on:
There are only 2 infinites, the universe and human stupidity. Im not sure about the universe. - Albert Einstein

Here we go. Get ready for a long post.

The WC pc isn't done. I need to drain it, replace a couple of seals and change out the hose that runs into my radiator. The one that was mentioned.
Noticed the pump on the back where the fan exhaust is.
It's scary looking because I haven't taken a lot of time with it. That's only a dozen hours of work or so.

My computer room is my spare equipment I'm not using or working on. Every job I have I take the old throw aways, refurb them, and donate them to abused childrens homes or orphanages. I have normally about 10-20 old 300mhz-1ghz boxes sitting around. That's actually pretty low. Right now I only have 4 or 5 left.

Onto the elephant in the thread, firearms. I'm sorry to continually hijack your thread razor.

Police have always had a tough job and 99% of the time they do it right. It's that 1% that causes me problems. I understand that a policeman's job is to enforce law, but what about when the law can't be fixed? What about when the system of control to keep the police in check fails? I'm not saying I want to kill cops, I don't want to kill anyone. Don't get that idea. What I am saying is that power tends to corrupt people and cause them to do horrific things to other people and when/if that happens, those victims should be able to fight back.

Because of my youth, I have a dislike of dickhead cops, but I respect good police for doing their jobs without complaint. I admire the fact that these people professionally choose to deal with violent criminals and get paid **** for doing it.

The start of tyranny comes from a population that can't fight back, and legislation doesn't work inside of an oppressive governmental system where the police, military or government has firearms. Killing people is a quick and rather efficent way to remove rebellion and oppression alike and guns are a tool to accomplish this task.

Guns are a tool designed for death. It's their purpose. Their intent is the person holding it.

If I wanted to kill an animal for food, I would rather have a gun than a knife. I have a better chance of eating. Death is part of existance and guns are a tool that helps facilitate it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I will never be ashamed of myself for promoting a tool that allows people to CHOOSE FOR THEMSELVES. Safety and freedom can't co-exist and I'd rather have the perils of being free than the perils of being opressed or silenced because I don't have say in my government.

The minute I let my goverment take my ability to rebel is the minute I lose all other rights. Modern rebellion doesn't happen with knives or swords or sticks. It happens with guns. Has for about 300 years now.

Here's a few quotes for you.

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual."

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

All of those quotes are from 1 man, Thomas Jefferson.

How about this one, "Think for yourself, question authority. Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. Think for yourself, question authority." -Timothy Leary

I'm not a simple man, and this isn't a simple world. Our views will more often than not collide, and I will play devil's advocate and be rather mean about it. This doesn't mean that I don't respect you and your station in life, quite the contrary. It means that I want people to understand why they believe the things they do. So many people in the world accept a viewpoint without question or reason because they are told to do so. Debate facilitates the ability to argue viewpoint intelligently and is a necessity of and for contrast.
Ask yourself why sometime, you might not like the answer.

Thanks Guys ^^

If there is one thing that I take pride in, it is a clean and professional office space.

Oh and about the TFT thing you guys mentioned...

Not a chance :D

No I'm kidding, I would if I could. But the reason we get everything "cheap-o" is because my dad owns GMAC Realestate so he writes it off as a company purchase from time to time. That or he gets old computers from his agents. lol which then get passed down to me eventually and I proceed to demolish them and salvage what I can afterwards. :p

I might sell this Dell Dimension 2350 though if I don't find a use for it. I'll be sure to post it here if I do. Its completely bare minimum but it runs and works. I'll soon have windows reinstalled in it as well. I'm thinking probably 200 bucks or something like that. Just enough to get me a decent piece of hardware. Otherwise it's more useful to me if I just keep it.

Smurai, i think its time to mod your entire room. You do realize that plaster is cheaper that toilet paper, right? lol

Razor, you could make *mod* a new ET center from cinder blocks, they dont warp when they get wet.

Anyway, its nice to see a few ghetto fab cribs. Reminds me of my childhood. :) Here are a few pics of my old rat hole. I dont have any other pics on my computer but what you see is the tip of the iceburg.

You know what state has no gun control laws? Texas.
You know what state has the lowest crime? Texas.

Think about it. The right to bare arms is still around, yeah, but abolish gun control altogether and suddenly that "innocent old lady" could be packing enough firepower to down a family of bears --- not something you wanna mess with.

I believe that the constution should be upheld no matter what, and the only guiding forces for this country should be the words of our founding fathers, with no inhibitations.

Anywho, i still can't find the damn camera -- and my room's gettin' messy agian =/

I am all for guns (I own several) but please don't spout facts you aren't sure about, it just opens the door for people to say "See these gun nuts just spout stuff off the top of their heads."

Texas ranks within the top 20 for violent crimes every year.

2005 and 2006 least dangerous state (based on rate of the 6 "big" violent crimes) is North Dakota.

Texas has several gun control laws, deopending on how you interpret the word "control"

Incase i cant find any (dont be surprised, i was not inspired to take pics of the filth) imagine this: the same dirty dishes sitting on the counter for months on end. No vacuum in a place where no one removed thier shoes.

Discusting!! When i moved into my own apartment, i made a promise to never be a dirty degenerate ever again. I now have one of, if not the best looking cribs out of my "live away from mommy" friends.

Cana-Balsitic,

I dig your setup and definately love the posters. You'll have to teach me how to use three monitors, some local fella is selling 2 LCDs exactly like mine
(20.1" Dell 2005FPW) and I think I can get them for around $400. That would be cool if the results justify the cost (can you play most games on 3 monitors?). Lastly, need any help with smoking cessation?

Thanks for the compliments guys. Im using a program called synergy to connect the displays. It allows you to use one mouse and one kayboard to control up to somthing like 20 computers. The only draw back is that only the cursor can travel between screens, meaning you cant drag objects from one computer to another. When i play games, i only use the center screen. I could have it span from the center monitor to the right monitor but since i have 2 diffrent CTR's it looks really funny and makes it hard to play. If i get some matching LCD's then i'll bind the deasktops like that.

I dont need any help smoking my cessation, 2 lungs only! Go buy your own smoke... :)
