Wooyeah.
I'm bored if you can't tell, so list some of your favourite bands/genres.
I'll start:
Bands:
1. Iron Maiden (Traditional Metal)
2. Kamelot (Epic/Traditional Metal)
3. Lyketha Aflame (Amazingly good Death Metal)
4. Naglfar (Black Metal)
5. Futuristic Sex Robotz (Geek Rap)
If you can't tell i loves me some metal. Pretty much anything; Black, Traditional, Epic, Melodic, Rythmic, Death, Speed, Power, Thrash, Drone (at times), all kinds of stuff. I also likes me some rap (Obviously) but only a very select few; FSR and Ludacris.
So, share with us what you like!

cky
nine inch nails
system of a down (not all of it... songs like ego brain, nuguns, soldier side)
modest mouse
muse

I hope you realize that NIN, CKY, A Perfect Circle, and SOAD all border on metal, and in fact, SOAD's "Mezmerize" album is actually considered metal.
There's TONS of different kinds of metal, fyi.
A lot of music takes itself too seriously. Intensity gets boring.
Primus or any other Les Claypool vehicle. The man is a legend.
Clutch
Mindless Self Indulgence
The Left Rights
Sneath
Ima Robot
The A.K.A.s are everywhere
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Weird Al
System of a Down
Old 311
Old Incubus
Jolie Holland
Behemoth
Uncle****er
Dillinger Escape Plan
From Autumn to Ashes
Type O Negative
Faith No More
There's a lot of music I used to listen to that I don't anymore. I don't think this should be included in this list.

Yeah, Metal's good. Ever listen to Lyketha Aflame? It's got really nice symphonic parts that seem light and kind of floaty then you get literally SLAMMED with some very intense death metal, and it's not american either. They've only got one album, but it's the best death i've heard.
Other reccomendations:
Lamb of God. I only have the Omerta album, but it seems okay.
Naglfar. I have Pariah and Sheol, and I gotta say, this is some fine Black Metal. Sheol is signifigantly better than Pariah, though.
In Flames. The two albums I have vary from sort of a Black/Traditional/Speed combo (Less on the Black and Speed though) to Melodic Death. It's pretty cool.
Dark Tranquility. I have the "Character" album, considered one of their best if i'm not mistaken. It's Sludge/Doom/Black metal, and it's pretty freakin' hardcore.

and yes again.. the stuff i really dont like is the high speed stuff with the screaming and/or growling and hateful lyrics. i just dont know how or why that kind of thing caught on. its almost as big a mystery as rap.

Growling/screaming isn't really my thing, but I can handle it. Like in the case of Shadows Fall, I'll listen to it, but only because I'm a guitarist and I like the guitar playing. The stuff I mostly listen to is all really based on the guitar; If it isn't good or lacks originality, I probably won't listen to it.

I agree completely. Every once in a while I'll get the urge for some Katakalysm, Union Underground or things of the like, then again some Gary Allen on rainy days is good stuff too. I'm just a guitar enthusiast and a big fan of originality. Also a big fan of Jack Johnson before the radio strangled him...the man's crazy on acoustic.
My favorite bands are:
Tool/APC
Creed/Alter Bridge
SOAD
Cross Canadian Ragweed (you should check them out .Maleficus. if you like country, awesome quality lead)
Flogging Molly
Wolfmother
Coheed and Cambria
Counting Crows
RHCP
Nightwish (dont think they're together anymore tho)

I have a Dean '79 Flying V. I love that thing like it is my child.

fellow ax grinders! I used to play a B.C. Rich Virgin, loved the way it played but the best guitars I have ever played (in my opinion of course) are the ESP's. Smoothest I've ever seen. My brother in law is a collector with over 40 some guitars (last I heard) and he favors acoustic, that man can play. I ought to see if he would send me a pic of his guitar room, it's insane.

On the topic of instruments:
I'm a bassist and I play a Fender Squire Prescision Bass II that used to be my dads, it's black with a white pickguard and DiAdarrio XL Strings that give it a nice sort of "twang"-ey noise.

I have a Epiphone Les Paul LP-100, bottom of the line but still sounds good on elixers, and an Ibanez RG Lucky Penny. I've played several Deans and they are nice guitars, mostly too heavy for me though. I love my Les Paul the most, been tryin to save up to get the big boy Gibson version...but ive had several set backs...mostly bills and grocery runs (living on your own DOES have its draw-backs while in college) and of course I couldnt forget about my computer mods :)

When you say to heavy, do you mean weight or sound?
Because yes the sound is heavy and that's why I like it :D
But I don't think it's heavy weight wise; mine is actually a LOT lighter than my old guitar and my friends guitar.

One of them, but in midnight purple with a pearl white outline.

Then I sold it, and now I have a custom made Brunswick acoustic :D
For christmas Im asking my mum for some turntables and my bro for a nice mixer. In the past 2 years Ive got heavily into electronic music, hip hop, and abstract electronic stuff, so I thought that it would be cool to try and make some of my own mixes :D

Yes I have played many shows in my lifetime. I am a drummer, progressive rock by choice, country by training. Used to be the drummer for my Dad's country band around the Denver area. Got bored with that and started running the sound board for my brother-in-law's band and sat in once in a while for the drummer for some live and studio stuff. Never been published yet, but still working on it. Once in a while I sit in with my co-worker at their practice gigs. He has 2 sets of drums combined into one. An acoustic set and a digital set. Sounds just fantastic when we both play, although my skills are not what they used to be so I do struggle to keep up. Tim is a madman on the drums!
http://www.epochrock.net/
Currently at home I have a set of Conga's my SO bought me for my birthday many years ago, I have a yamaha drum machine (only use it for the pads) connected to several drum machines depending on the sound I want. I also use some computer music programs triggered by my keyboard and drum pads.
Computer Music (out of the UK) does some very nice feebies with their magazine. http://www.computermusic.co.uk/
Pick up a copy and it comes with all the software you need to make music on your computer (pc or mac). Really a great idea for beggining and intermediate musicians. Teaches you timing and waveform techniques and stuff.

Do i have to tell you that was a joke? :D

How's the jackson's playability?. Personally, I have a problem with the head of Jacksons... they're the wrong way around.

MMMM my dad could make that Rickenbacher sing! He is one of the few people I know that can really bend that axe to his will. When he used to pick up his 'bach' we were all in for a treat. One of the few guitars I begged him to keep. Also that SaeHan _really_ takes talent to play.

There's a concert thread on another forum I go to, and I figure I'd post this here (and yes, I wrote this):
Most Recent Concert: Iron Maiden at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre for their "A Matter of Life and Death" World Tour, Los Angeles
It was my first metal concert, and I gotta tell you, it was just that, ****ing metal. First off, Three Inches of Blood opened for Iron Maiden (Tampons can play instruments, apparently) and they basically sucked...
Then there was like, a half hour delay 'cause Maiden was stuck in traffic. Fun. **** LA traffic.
After they got there, they opened with "Different World" (video:clicky (http://youtube.com/watch?v=WykJdyLIdrc)) then proceeded to play the whole A Matter of Life and Death album, which, if i am not mistaken, this is the first tour that they've played a whole album.
Halfway through the concert, Bruce Dickenson gave a speech basically praising the crowd (woot), video found here: clicky (http://youtube.com/watch?v=iYZXdHWNBug). Before the video starts, he basically says "Yeah, this show is sold out, so when we come back it'll be two tays instead of one"
They then finished A Matter of Life and Death, then played the songs as following:
Fear of the Dark
Hallowed be thy Name
Iron Maiden
2 Minutes to Midnight (video:clicky (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lRgoZ8QyJbw))
Then the concert was over, which sucked, 'cause they didn't play more than those 4 older songs =/
Anywho, the atmosphere ****ing owned; Really energetic and into the music and band and everything. Nothing like a sold out Maiden show filled with metalheads. I had actually lost my voice close to the end of "2 Minutes to Midnight", but before that, i was yelling as loud as I could.
One of my gripes, however, is that brude sang 2 Minutes to Midnight kinda awkward, but ****, it was IRON ****ING MAIDEN in concert.
The audio quality was pretty awesome; even all the way in the back where I was, I could FEEL the bass.
If I had to rate the concert on a 1-10 scale, it'd get an 11.
