Ha. You guys should see my gay cowboy outfit. It's pretty fantastic.
I'll try and get some pics tonight.
P.S.: I got in trouble in school today for not wearing a shirt under my vest. Let that be a hint to the vibe of my costume....

when i was in high school, you were better off not wearing a costume at all. it seemed like everyone who actually had a good costume, not gorey or obscene mind you, got in trouble for some reason or another. i thought that schools were supposed to encourage creativity and over all, tolerance. obviously the dont practice what they preach. -_-

That's for sure all right. My school's administration sure hates diversity all right. Coming from a rich white suburb, they automatically (I do NOT support this at all) label the few african americans in our school as less equal, they hate anyone that acts slightly homosexual, and anyone that's even slightly diverse.
I have a diverse group of friends. Guess whom were the first to be called down when there was a bomb threat?
1.) The only muslim in my school.
2.) The two kids that have mohawks.
3.) The only three kids with leather studded jackets.
4.) Me (I'm Kinda a prankster)

Im muslim, They called me down when a smoke bomb went off...F*ckers....
but looking it from a non-muslim point, having the only muslim come down first is pretty funny....

Dude, that is absolutely terrible. It makes me sick to think that that kind of feeble-minded bull**** takes place in a learning environment, not to mention perpetuated by the academic authorities who are supposed to be not so narrow-minded and unproductive. I'm glad to see that it has apparently failed to rub off on you. Keep fighting the good fight for diversity. It's what makes being a human so interesting!

Yeah, it really lets me down, and not showing off or anything, but we are one of the best districts in the country. All of our middle schools and high schools are blue ribbon of exellence. It's honestly a shame - the whole town is like that, I hate it. Almost all the kids that live here are rich an sheltered their whole lives and commonly fail as soon as they go away to college or move out.
Every summer I go to a diversity camp, with their slogan being "celebrating human diversity". I always come back an open minded, happy liberal. Going back to school and all the rascist comments etc. is always dreadful. By the end of the year, I'm used to it, and when I return to school the next year I'm always shocked at the ignorance of supposedly such "well educated" students.
P.S.: What part of Ithaca are you from, A.bird? I have some friends from up there. Also... ever heard of "Vitamin L"? =D!

A diversity camp sounds really interesting, I'd like to experience something like that.
I live on Hayts Rd on westhill near Cayuga medical center as well as downtown on Spencer Rd near Wegmans/Walmart/BurgerKing/etc.
Vitamin L sounds familiar, is that group or something?

No offense, because I am in no way homophobic or bigoted towards homosexuals, but I think it's time you came out. I'll still accept you as much as I did before I saw you in your underwear with a bunch of other dudes or getting straddled by one of your friends while youe grabbed his ass.... promise. :P

Vitamin L is a cheesy children's group from Ithaca that sings songs about love and doing well in school. It stands for Vitamin Love. It's fantastic. They sing at our camp every year, and everyone goes absolutely sarcastically CRAZY (I mean full out body painting and stuff) over them. It's pretty funny. And they all think its a joke too - if you talk to them after the show they think it's just as funny as we do.
