I was wondering if it would be cool to make a PC and put it into a monitor. Not like an iMac, but actually have the CRT components taken out, and place a mobo, RAM, and other stuff in. Take out the shadow layer, and have cold cathodes line the inside to shine out.

That might be kind of cool I guess.... Yeah, thinking about it, I would say it is pretty original and it might get a few laughs or a few thumbs up if you made it look really nice. or just leave it as is! Of course you know that CRT monitor components are very dangerous. I'm sure someone will help point that out.

The best mod I have seen with a CRT is they got the biggest computer monitor they could find that was a CRT. Gutted it put an LCD screen in the front and computer behind it.

But just having the computer in a CRT would be cool and you look in through the front glass and see it.

Be sure to uncharge everything before touching any CRT components, unless you wanna die :)

And you could do the invert thing, like putting an LCD screen into a computer case :O

Put a mini-ATX computer in a CRT, then buy another CRT of the exact same kind for your moniter and run them side to side.

Or put 19" lcd in an atx case. When people come over their heads will explode.

My 17" SyncMaster has plenty of room for this mod (these things are deep as hell) but I'm way too scared to open it up.
