View Full Version : Anyone into Airguns?
Crimson Sky

I know a LOT of people from the UK are into airguns, and the Brits make some of the finest around. Here is my German made RWS Diana Model 34 in .22 caliber. I've added a Morgan adjustable butt pad and home made trigger guard. I also added an aluminum muzzle brake. ;)

*Shudders light beer.
One person went on a rampage in Australia and killed a bunch of brit toursits and spoiled it for the rest of us.
So no airsoft
Paintball guns only at paintball ranges
And for even air rifles you need a license.
Another interesting thing is the good ads at the top of the page have changed from computer stuff to hunting gear.

This is my custom airbrushed Tippmann A5 paintball gun. (Like the paintjob?) I did it meself.
On it I have a 21" sniper barrel and a response trigger. With the cyclone feed, this gun does about 17 balls per second.

It's 20oz of CO2. That'd be about 591 cc, I believe.

Nice tybrenis - I wish I had one. How many balls can it hold (no jokes please lol) (also I have no idea about paintball guns etc.) because I was wondering if it pumps out 17 balls per second, if you were to continuously fire it wouldent it run out awfully quick?

Nice gun, Crimson!
An average paintball gun's hopper holds about 250 paintballs. Many people carry what are called pods, they hold something like 75 or 100 balls. I have a pack with a few on my back for quick refilling in a game.
Yes, if I were to fire at 17bps all the time it would waste a lot of paint, so usually I turn it down to a lot less. However, in a speedball game it does come in handy. It's also great for when you've got a guy behind a crate or something and you need to spray him with a line of paint. This gun holds a very tight rope of paint when I'm firing.
Also, the 21" barrel is ridiculously long by paintball standards, and this gun is consistent up to about 5 inches from 100 feet away. That's pretty damned good for a round ball.
.Maleficus.

Ahhhh, you're lucky Ty. I wish I had a paintball gun, but my parents think they're too dangerous. So, all I have is an Airsoft gun.
I guess no pics. are necessary... If you can picture a black pistol, that's what mine looks like lol.

Yeah, you should get a MP5.
I bet if I had any air guns i'd be into it -- but i don't have any =/
I wanna get a M16A2 Airsoft gun =D
ooh i wonder if they make M203 attachments for airsoft guns, that'd be cool (The M203 is the M16A2's grenade launcher btw)
if i can find the autococker body i made...ill post pics of it

When I get a chance I'll get a few pics of my gun. It's a G36C with a mini grenade launcher. http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/images/AEG-TMG36C.jpg There's a pic from a website, but I will get my own with the launcher on the gun.

Airsoft:
I used to have a mini uzi airsoft gun. It was battery powered but it was still alot of fun! My advice is this... dont buy cheap feeling things. Mainly because... if they feel cheap, then they probably are cheap. Despite the 40 dollars for the dumb thing... at least they were kind enough to include the batteries! lol
Paintball:
I also used to have a Brass Eagle II (el cheapo) which I upgraded to the Victor II (Novice) which I then upgraded to the Rodeo (Intermediate)...which was then stolen the same ******* day. But as soon as I find someone close by that is still into paintballing, I'll probably buy either an A-5, 98 Custom, or the one I want the most... The worlds most customizable marker... The Tippmann X7.

Well i can't read that website but I specifically mentioned a M16A2 w/M203, and i'm not too sure if that's an M16A2 w/M203, it might be one of those M14A4 Carbine's.
But yeah, that's what it looks like. They're pretty cool things.

1200 bucks on a toy gun? Why not buy a real gun?
I never understood airsoft and paintball when you can use real firearms. Then again I don't shoot my friends.
I guess this just doesn't appeal to me. To each his own.

Eh, M16's (A1 or A2), M15 Carbines, M4's, etc all look pretty similar =/
Lets see. If I had to choose a few airsoft guns, i'd probably just go with a few Assault Rifles, including the G36C (Or G36E), M16A2, and the MP5 (A3/A5 or MP5K PDW).

The appeal of airsoft and paintball is just 'cause you can shoot somebody without getting a felony or something. Reminds me, my uncle, in the army, is a forward observer. There's a giant fort here in california that he'd always get stoked for, 'cause he'd go and do his forward observer thing with his night goggles and crap, and bring his paintball gun so he could shoot the trainees just to mess with 'em.
I've been pinged in the arse with a paintball gun before. Pretty close too, 50 feet away or so. Nice little welt. But i'd rather have a welt than a bullethole =/
I guess people got tired of bb guns. That's what I had as a kid and that's what we shot each other with as kids. Those things hurt.
Of course m16 variants, m4 and ar10 and 15 look similar, they all have the same design and action.

I don't think most paintballers play because they like shooting their friends, there is a lot more too it than the average person knows. There are teams and big groups that play, it is a very tactical sport. Speedball is much like chess in the essence that it involves two teams of "players", and you will commonly see teams sending one man in for a suicide while the others run for the flag cap.

Last time I played, I got laid out by a gy with an automatic in the back about 12 times. He was 15 feet away. =D what an ass.
sorry guys.. I have since fixed the image. Threw it up on my server.

True to a certain point. The M16A2 has 3 options on it, safe, semi-auto, and 3 round burst. The M4 has auto instead of the burst, and the AR10/15 only have safe and semi. Of course, if you know what to do, that can be modified very easily. I'm accurate with an M16A2 out to 500 yards with plain iron sites. Never tried anything farther than that, and never got the chance to have any kind of scope on it. Didn't have to/didn't want to.
all paintball is is strategy...whether its a scenario game or tourny play... strategy in tourny is how to score the most points.....which normally you need a sprinter for first flag capture...lots of points in it...then eliminations build you some points for the round...then flag hangs end the game and give more points...
no scenario ball is completely different...i plan on goin to one of the worlds largest sceanrio games this summer....just gotta save up and buy some new gear..... scenario ball is all about objectives...there are points with it...but its mainly completing your objective....
oh and btw the scenario game im goin to is www.oklahomadday.com

I've been wanting to get a barrett M82A1 for airsoft. Also the M249 paratrooper version with the ammo box that holds 2500 bbs. Sadly I have no money for this stuff right now.

I have read that the M82 can pack quite a punch, but the size of it is really to big to be manuverable on the field in my opinion, but it sure looks awesome. (Never actually used one, but have read about it.) The SAW's and whatnot are awesome, 2500 rounds to spray and pray :)

Nothing said Airsoft can't be strategy -- in fact I have a couple of buddies that are into the whole "tactical assault" kinda thing and they've got plethoras of airsoft weapons, which they use in scenarios that they have one of their other buddies (this dude is insane, awesome strategist) come up with in locations where other people hardly are. It's pretty cool.

Yep, I've heard of EMR. I've not been there yet, but I hear it's pretty cool. Let me know if your gonna be up here, maybe we'll play sometime. A previously active member on here, RangerDanger, plays paintball. I met him on here, and turns out, he lives about 45 minutes away. We now play paintball every week or so together.
