you'll have to excuse me, I'm American. -_- but I'm trying to understand what this sort of race is like. is it basically NASCAR without the rednecks and the constant left turns? if so....then you best be sharin' photos. ^_^ most of the car races here involve going in small circles in a counter-clockwise direction. yes, compelling, i know.

I love it when the WRC comes to Australia now those are some sweet runs those guys get. WRC is rally for all those don't know and teams race along the same stretch of track to get the best time. Everyone races once. Then they move on to the next leg which every one goes through and the best time wins and so on. Plus since they race on country tracks and roads there is a navigator and a driver in each car.

about a month ago (oct. 1st) I was at the A1-GP in Zandvoort (holland) and that also kicks some serious a$$!!
It's something like Formula 1 or indycar/CART-series, but the cars are a little bit slower and you don't have teams with sponsors, but country-teams. There are 25 countries all having one car, and then they race two races in a weekend on a closed track.
Was really amazing, the organization did a marvelous job...
pics anyone?

actually, what I meant was; do you want to see some pictures of the A1-gp race. I went there and have some pictures, but if nobody wants to see them I don't have to resize and post them;)

great stuff, thx for the pics and link
it is similat with formula Renault or BMW
its a great place for young drivers

actually it is not just a place for young drivers to learn stuff, these cars are serious: 3.4 liter 550 BHP engines, max 695 kg car weight and obviously there's a great amount of grip, aerodynamically and through the real (350 mm wide rear) slick-tires...
I think this racing class comes very close to formula 1. The cars are actually based on the latest formula 3000 (now GP2) cars...
if you want more info on the A1-gp series, check out their website at A1gp.com (http://www.a1gp.com)
