Grim Reaper Engraving Idea(s)

Well... This is the design I was wanting to engrave onto my future Lian Li G50B (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112104) chassis (Which as soon as I get my money back I am buying for sure!). What do you guys think? Thoughts, opinions, advice, etc?

This is just one drawing for the side panel. I want to do more to the rest of the case but I also want to keep the designs simple. Which is why the Grim Reaper is so simple looking.

The only one I thought of so far was "Death Personified" (FYI-The grim reaper is the personification of death). Which is okay... but I would like to play around a bit more and see what else comes to mind.

You know... Your absolutely right! A sickle has a short handle and a scythe has a long handle. Well pretty much at least. Thanks for clarifying that for me! ^^ Also thanks for the compliment. lol I still dont think its that great... but if you say so!

I wonder... If I could put a blow hole in the front of that case? Then put metal mesh behind it and then put a red LED fan in there? Maybe even put some kind of edging around the hole so it looks nice and clean?

Then I could do some sort of engraving design around the hole!?

Well that is kind of going off topic... But then again, If I want to do that then I better make sure I dont do some kind of engraving design where I am going to put it! Otherwise it wont work and I would ruin something... Bah, I hate planning things. lol It's too much of a bother.

Well I was originally going to do some really dark looking font... lol but I couldn't seem to draw any of them. But then again... I am going to have to draw this up on my computer so I can better "perfect" it. Maybe... Or no wait... actually I can just draw the Grim Reaper and then type up the font and print that off! DUH! Man... I am dumb sometimes lol.

I'll look through a bunch of Font and see if I can find anything that suits my fancy.

Also, what are some things that are related to death and the such? All I can think of is a pile of skulls... lol There must be more that I can do!?

How about that? Simple, easy, and it kind of reminds me of Goosebumps! (Book Series) Or something like that... maybe it was a different book series... like... GAH! I can't remember what it was called.. something like "blah blah in the dark". Bah, who knows. I'm going to bed. lol

The scythe curve is fine. That's about how they look, except yours is all fancy.
The drawing looks fine, but it doesn't look like death is a skeleton inside. Looks more like a man with the muscles you portray. Nothing wrong with that, just the classic grim reaper is a skeleton.

As for symbols of death, there are thousands. Look outside of christian influence for some really strange/amazing designs. I would suggest starting with buddhism. This would add more depth to your case than skulls.

personally, i'd rip off somebody else's engraving and use the diablo-style font for "are you next" - and i might even drop the grim reaper and show the scythe. your scythe drawing looks pretty badass imo.

maybe make the focus of the engraving the blade of the scythe and engrave the text along the blade.

That diablo style is pretty cool looking I gotta admit! I'll take a better look at it a bit later. Maybe even look at some other games, since they seem to have the coolest font around!

Oh yeah, I've decided to leave the front of the case alone for now. Since I might decide to put a blow hole in the front. But everywhere else on the front other than like where the blow hole would be is still up for design idea's.

I was thinking for the 3 left over drive bays... to do a separate portrait on each one... but in such a way where combined it makes one ultimate portrait of something. That way if I upgrade something I wont be at a loss by taking down one of the drive bays. How or what to do to do that... I haven't clue.

I'm not really a big fan of handles but I might be able to do that. But I'm kind of just trying to keep with engravings. I don't really have the money for everything else because I want some new parts for my computer. That and I'm not really going for scary, even though I really want to. I don't have the skill to go for that and my drawings aren't as scary as they are... well... there just not scary lol.

But I've pretty much decided that I don't want to engrave the coffin on the top of the case... I don't know why, but I just don't like the idea of having it there.

I was also thinking that I could put in some windows (the one thing I wouldn't mind spending extra cash on) and etching some stuff into that. Such as a coffin or something.

This is how it is as of right now.

Death Box: Lan party case. It's not as efficient in being a lan case as others, but like I care right? It's still pretty light and smaller than your standard mid tower. It's going to house my current PC (dell p4). I'll also be paying for it with my money out of my pocket. I suspect it will begin at the beginning of January.

Unnamed: My father just admitted to me that he owes me money and we've agreed that I'll call it even if he buys some new hardware for me. I'm thinking about the thermaltake armor full tower! Which is going to be my power house and my office PC as well as my first water cooled factory. I'm not sure what I am going to do with it... but I am thinking right now to paint it a crazy bright metallic orange (the kind where you have to look away because its so damn bright). With some accenting of course.... I'm not a huge fan of just one straight color.

Well, as of right now, thats how it is and I have to say, I am pretty damn happy! Kind of funny though isnt it? one is dark and death orientated... and the other is bright and happy go lucky lol I guess it works, I'm starting to think I am bi polar.

Hey here's an idea for the mod's name... I'm guessing that it will probably be a gaming comp so why not reflect this in the mod's name? My idea comes from a difficulty level in a classic first person shooter.

Also the Lian Li G50B project won't be a lan rig (ha, thats what I am calling it for now, Lian Li G50B). Mostly do to the fact that even though it is a pretty decent size and weight for that type of thing, the components inside aren't. I'll have to use the Armor for lan parties. Despite the hassle of its weight and size.

I found a pretty cool blue color that I could use for the TT Armor. I'm not sure if I want to use it though... I'm having a hard time deciding on a color scheme for it. I'm starting to think I have a "being indecisive" problem. One idea sounds good one moment and then the next I can't stand it.

Ah okay, Centurions are perfect for the Katana coolers. They just match well I think.

For the Lian Li G50B project... I think I am going to have to use a Thermaltake Orb cooler. The clearance between the power supply and the heatsink are really close because of the cases layout.

As for the cooling for the Armor project... its going to be liquefied baby! :D

EDIT: **Also I just noticed something... If I ask for the computer components for christmas then that means I don't have anything to buy. My dad is paying for the Armor case, and then the components will be bought for me as a present. Which leaves me with 300 dollars. So unless I am missing something... That means that the 300 dollars can be put towards a bad ass water cooling kit! MAJOR WOOT!** :EDIT

Which is also why I am rethinking the orange paint idea... I don't really like red coolant or red in general on the inside of a computer.

But I wouldn't mind having red accents on the Lian Li. That would be cool.

I'm considering auctioning off the Lian Li project as soon as I am done. It was originally a gift from my father, so I might give it back to him if he wants it. But if he doesn't, I might sell it so I can have a bit more cash to put into the Armor or just to have some extra cash would be nice.
