Might be easier to buy the Coolermaster Musketeer:

Which has gauges and stuff already. I think they are pretty easy to take apart (i.e. out of the drive bay shell), but I'm not sure if the gauges come apart.

There was a pretty cool PC Tachometer (http://www.xoxide.com/pctachometer1.html)around for a bit, but its been discontinued. maybe you can find one used.

Or you could also rig actual guages to create something similar to the PC Tachometer? I know I've seen different systems rigged up to do things by software... Like light guages that gradually light up one at a time to display the CPU's temp... Software could detect the temp of your CPU or fan speed and display it on the guage(s) you put there. The only thing is that this would require experience in programming this kind of thing and advanced knolege of how the guages work. This would be quite advanced stuff though and I personally have no idea how it is done.

I know the guy who made Heavymetal used an analog gauge, here are a couple of links that discuss it. I didn't have time to read thouroughly so maybe there is something useful, maybe not. But it moght give you a place to start searching for the method.
