Well my brother just upgraded and that made me want to too to keep up with him, so here is my new rig. I have a couple questions too.

Core 2 Duo E6400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115004) -$222
Asus P5B-E (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131070) -$152
G.Skill 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231098) -$210
2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 SATA (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822148161) -$112
Radeon X850XT (Keeping from original rig)
Thermaltake TR2 430W (Keeping from Original rig if possible.)
LITE-ON 16X DVD/R Burner (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16827106013) -$30
Roswell Mid Tower Case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811147040) -$40

Total + Tax & Shipping $857.00 Don't want to go much over $900 if possible.

1. Would anyone recommend different RAM other than G.Skill that is around $200.00

2. Do you think that the 430W PSU will hold up.

Off hand I would guess that your PSU is enough since you are using a single Gfx card and I don't think the 850XT is a huge energy hog. But I am only guessing, the uquipment should specify what power rating is recommended. I ran a AMD dual core (4400+), 3 HDD's, SB Fatality, DVDROM, and 1900XTX off of a cheapo 500watt and it held for 6mo (after which time it did blow up).

It looks good. The DDR2-800 isnt really performance boosting so if you need to cut costs 667 would be very close in performance. Pretty much all games will be graphics limitaed with that setup.

If the PSU came with a case, get rid of it. These cheapo noname brand PSU's die after a short while (like mine did:( ) and are not very efficient. Regarding your hard drive choice, I'm guessing you chose those drives for a raid array. It's fine for speed, but I think you can get more for your dollar by getting one good one. Here is a 400Gb Samsung for $120 (about the same as the two drives) in case you are interested. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822152046
