I'm guessing that those prices are in american $ right? I just wanted to do a proper conversion so I can know how much it would really cost me... Yes I was thinking of using these to replace the meteor light kit in my mod for those who saw my thread in 'the rookie's nook'

as an FYI, Blue LEDs are always more expensive because the patent to make them has been held by Phillips for many decades. useless trivia ;)

Thats weird?? Was Phillips the first to make Blue LEDs then? What if you made them in a different way?

lol where/how did you learn this? Just woke up one morning and wanted to learn why Blue LEDs cost more?

If the first thing you think about in the morning after waking up is technology of some kind or the other, thats when you know you have become a true geek! lol

This guy invented the blue LED (http://www.patenthawk.com/blog/2006/03/blue_led.html#more). Phillips owns it now. There is only one way to make a blue LED, it can not be reinvented, just like wheels.

Thats a great website crimson! Pretty interesting stuff to read in there... such as a slight mention of Windows and Linux interoperability (http://www.patenthawk.com/blog/2006/11/windows_kisses_linux.html#more) in the future. That would be pretty darn cool!1

LED's are not like coloured light bulbs.

They emit only light of the colour they are. They could be made clear with no difference in the colour of the light, but then it would be harder to tell them appart.

This is also why white LED's cost so much-they were only invented in the past few years. For a long time, you could only get green and red LED's.

i just got my leds yesterday.... super fast delivery...

Apparantly they take much longer to reply to e-mails than to ship out their stuff... been waiting a week and a half for a reply form them...
