www.google.com is your friend.

I'm sure you can find plenty of information if you just sit down for a couple hours and start researching. There are plenty of sites out there with what you need.

I'm told ATItool is the way to go, but also told to be careful as over-doing it is easy.

Yeah with overclocking cards first make sure it has good cooling. Right first you bump up the freq's of the GPU and the Graphics cards ram. Just tweak it up a bit. Then run 3dmark (http://www.futuremark.com/download/3dmark06/) and see if the graphics card overheats or there is any artificating or other screwy stuff happening on the screen. If all is well tweak the card up a little more and test it again. Stop when it overheats or artifacts and put it back to the most stable overclock you had.

If you have your card overclocked you have to keep your eye on the temperatures because if a fan stops then your card may die.

ATITool is great for OC'ing your card. No need to run 3dmark after every speed bump as atitool runs a _quick_ test to check for artifacts and hangs. Once you find a stable speed bump (with or without extra cooling), _then_ run 3dmark to test for stability or better yet fire up a game and play for a while.

FWIW: The fan on my 9700pro failed and the card was overclocked. The system would hang then work for a while after a reboot, then hang again. Once I replaced the fan it worked fine. In fact it is installed in my wifes system (not wasting an x850xt on office for windows...) currently with no issues.

I have a question too :p. Does anyone know what a stable estimate would be of an Nvidia GeForce 4000 MX w/ 128 RAM and 275 MHz processor speed?

Wow most Geforce cards deafult around 250mhz. I reckon you could get it up to 300mhz probably just the method above to see how far you can take it.

I would suggest an after market cooler for a 25 mhz bump.

I have a 9250 I put a zalman cooler on and I can take it over 60 mhz gpu and 40 mhz ram without issue. Any higher and I get artifacts that ATITool doesn't pick up.

Go slow, use 3dmark05, monitor your temps after each test. You can't start by cranking ATITool up 50 mhz. Try 5.

WOOT! lol. Anyways, I think that'll be plenty fast for me ^^. Ill try a better heatsink and a fan.
