now then, with versions of windows xp currently being sold with upgrade coupons (both oem and retail) i want to know exactly what this upgrade coupon entitles you to, is it an all singing and all dancing version of vista, or is it the more holes than a leaky bath dodgy version which you have to pay for the honour of upgrading in the first place.
Basically here's the scenario.
you buy xp home edition with an upgrade coupon.
feb rolls around when they release vista
cash in your upgrade coupon
do you
a) get a fresh vista disk direct from m$
b) have to go online and wait for 3 years to download a new version of vista because the m$ web servers are having such a time dealing out the dodgy update versions to other vista users
c) throw the coupon in the bin because an upgrade to a "beta" version of an operating system that is in all likelyness less stable (because it's been upgraded) than linux, more hackable than a DMZ
