Hehe I never understood the mentality to sit in line for something that will still be sold in a couple of months and at a cheaper price. I mean come on, it's not like a concert where you need to get in line for the best tickets. Everyone gets the same ticket no matter where you are in line. AND if you wait you may get one for christmas or at least for a better price.

Yep, they were in my f***ing spot last night. lol sorry, I'm a lil disappointed that I don't get to participate along with my friend. Luckily he was allowed to take a couple days off so he doesn't need me to be his place holder. Bah, I was still looking forward to it though. Oh well, maybe next time. (ps4? or maybe xbox ultimate? lol)

Also, a PS3 sold for 9 grand a day or something ago. Or so the rumor goes... Right now on ebay they are going from about a grand to four grand. Looks like it really was a good idea to buy it and turn around and sell it. Just a bummer that I am not going to see any of that action! :(

lmao. I don't know why everyone's so hyped up about the PS3. I think its just a waste of money. You can get twice the processing power from a 360, and still have great graphics. 600 bucks is a lot of money, considering a 360 is 400 with more features ^^. I wanna 360, but I have a video game Nazi running the house...

The Xbox 360 doesn't have blu-ray, the PS3 does. The 600 dollar version also has wireless I believe...

I don't know, the blu-ray alone is expensive. The TV kits are about a grand at best buy and the PC kits are about 700 bucks on newegg.com. Blu-Ray = High Def games and DVD's. I think the Xbox 360 offers that too though doesn't it?

Blu-Ray is just a harddrive thats smaller and has higher capacity. Compared to a normal 10 GB on a HDD, a PS3 has 15 GB in the same space. I think its an unneeded feature. Xbox 360 has SATA too, and the GUI is awesome for the 360. But the only thing that the PS3 has that interests me is the 1080p resolution.

I don't know where you get your facts from. Blu-Ray is a successor to DVD. It's a disk format.

I was about to say I dont know where progbuddy get his facts (It's not Wikipedia Blue-ray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu_ray)), but the PS3 has always been spec'ed higher then the 360. Its cell processors alone were rated at twice that of the 360, and the 360 doesn't have the many features available for the PS3. If you would like to look at the interface check out this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAlArIjGP4U). I am really interested in the whole "Install other OS" option. According to the video it sounds like you can install linux and use it for other things as well. That truely opens up a new dimension for consoles. So basically the PS3 can play games, has lots of media option with the BluRay and upto 1080p output, and can run Linux so you could use Audacity, or Gimp or just be able to type up a report using Open Office. I have never been big into consoles (always a PC gamer) but the PS3 is really starting to get my attention. It should be interesting what happens once it spends some time out in the wild. :)

I saw that as well.. In the video above they were able to get a PS2 game to work but apparently its not as universal as Sony planned it to be. Good thing is it appears to be a software issue more then a hardware issue so hopefully for them they will be able to correct it with a firmware update.

I was playing one at best buy yesterday and it seemed really nice. I haven't really seen the best of the 360, and i only got to play one game on the ps3 (some sort of off road racing game) , but it just looked so nice. compared to the football game being played on the 360 next to me... the ps3 blew it out of the water. But as i said i haven't really seen what the best of the 360 looks like

I, however, am planning on a 360 for christmas. More affordable, plus its what all my friends play when we get togethor for game parties.

Im still really excited about the wii to, even though the graphics aren't that impressive, i think it might be my favorite system if some good titles come out.

Im sure they will... i mean, how many mario karts are there out as it is lol.

Now that i think about it... the wii has the possibility to be oldschool/retro gamer paradise... a great selection of the old games off of some of the greatest consoles of days gone by. Sure... you may not being playing on a vintage system... but you cant really beet something that will play all your old favorites on a single platform. The only thing holding you back is how fast you fill up your hard drive. Personally im not in to old games, but every now and then i get the urge to play some older stuff.

It depends on your age. If you play games that you remember enjoying, you'll still enjoy them, but if you go back, you'll be thinking "This is ****, how could anyone ever like this?"

The only game i really enjoyed that i hadn't played when it was fairly new was Chrono-Trigger, but that game was something special.

It went on sale up here in PA and there was riots and stuff. I saw it on the news, people were getting trampled and i guess some guy was in the middle of it all robbing people. It was pretty crazy, Im not really sure if it would have been worth it.

The PS3 is backward compitable with some games from PS2 and PS1 but not all this will be fixed by sony in a software update.

Also sony Asia Pacfiic will personally prosecute anyone who buys the consoles in Japan or the US say and sells them in country's in the Australia Pacfiic region where the console has not being released yet. This sounds laughable but they did this with people selling the PSP early. We don't get PS3's till march next year due to a lack of components for the blue ray drives.

I dont think I will buy a PS3 computer gaming will be so much better by march and so will computers. Maybe I will buy one in like 2008 when they are alot cheaper.

Sony have have sold out of PS3's in Japan already and sony is struggling to get more in apprentently

I would say it depends on the quality of online play... i know that online play with the ps2 was FAR inferior to xbox live. However depending on how good of a service sony provides (sony is saying its supposed to be pretty good) Id say your probably right with playstation online or whatever its called being a better service due to it being more affordable.
