Linux is open source software, which, in a nutshell means it's free.
Try Ubuntu. If you have a cd burner you can download the iso files and burn them to cd with nero or another cd burning program.

Um, lets see, I have about 6 or 7 lol. But there's really no point in sending you one. Downloading them is just as easy. I currently have Ubuntu 6.10, Fedora Core 5 and 6, Knoppix, Mandriva One 2007, Gentoo 2006.1 Installer, PHLAK, and xUbuntu (Xbox Ubuntu).

Any of them are good, just get some LiveCDs and try out each one.
