Well my mouse just up and *died* on me for no apparent reason. Anyone who says otherwise will be shot on sight. ;)

These are the two products I am looking at right now.

or...

Yep, I'm being a cheap-o. But I have to be otherwise I can't get my water cooling kit. Which is still more than I can afford. But I just can't go without a mouse! I have before and it is not fun at all. Great way to learn every function of keyboard though. 8)

So what do you guys think? That microsoft is a laser not an optical, but it doesn't list the dpi anywhere so it is probably 400dpi. Which would be the ?lowest? dpi for laser tracking mice. On the other hand... We have an optical mouse (which are still 100% better than balls) and a keyboard as well as some brand new speakers (which are probably only slightly better than my current ones). That keyboard is better than my standard Dell though... But keyboards are keyboards. It's the mouse that does the talking!

Being indecisive is so... blah sometimes! lol

**The Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000 has reported to last up to 6 months with their new improved technology.

Forget the Rosewill setup. It is not worth the money and your frustration level will make you want to throw it after a couple of weeks. I have never had one of their mice ever work properly and the keyboards are the lowest of quality. You would be better off buying the cheapest logitech device you could find.

I found this on the Microsoft website for details on the mouse...

1000dpi and puts out about 6,000fps

Thats not bad but it's not great either right? The dpi is half of most gaming mice but I don't know about the fps.

Also, I looked at the WIRED version and it has 5/5 stars with 80+ reviews. That's kind of persuasive in itself... but I still want to know what YOUR guy's opinions are on the DPI and FPS. I'm not expecting an awesome mouse like the G5, But I don't want poo either. Otherwise I'll just fork up the extra cash for the G5. I have $50USD max, but I would like to spend as little as possible if possible. If its worth forking up the rest of it, then I will of course.

Hmmm, Another question then I guess. Is it worth paying that extra $$ for a better mouse such as the G5? I do love a good mouse and I can usually tell the difference between a good one and a not so good one. Example: Optical vs Laser.

lol one other thing before I shut my big mouth. If I had a mouse like the G5, would it improve gameplay such as America's Army Online. The biggest problem I have right now is trying to focus my gun on a target and swinging around in time to avoid being shot in the back.

If money is an issue, forget wireless. Wired is often cheaper.
Based on the style of mouse you like, here's my suggestion.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826104136

Both are high quality simple wired mice. I use the logitech myself and have used the intellipoint many times. Both will last you for several years and work just fine.

Okay, well I was thinking a bit. Now if I hold off on my water kit for a bit longer then I could probably be looking at a pretty nice mouse. Such as the G7. **I wont even need the kit until after Christmas when I get my hardware.

So lets compare gameplay wise. Let say I have either the Microsoft I listed or one of the ones nil8 listed. Would the upgrade to a G5 or G7 (btw, what happened to the G6? lol) be worth it? Or would the difference be pretty minuscule? *note that I hate losing in vid games lol **even more so against my friend in AAO. ***And he's and ass about it.

lol btw, I just found this on a website that was reviewing the G7. I dont know if it is true, but it made me laugh.

"One mouse to rule them all, one mouse to taunt them, One mouse to cut the cords and in the freedom frag them."

gameplay depends a lot on what you play :p
mmorpg's, doesn't matter so much.
fps's ... you'll want as high a DPI (or wahtever) if you're that competitive :P

EDITED: I'm going with the second cheapest optical logitech. lol Read my reason for editing, you'll understand then. ^^

Has anyone ever tested a Revolution? Those things look UBER comfy! Way too $$$ though.
