Where does it say it's the first film to use real bodies?
Also, it's 8 films, not 1.

That's gross. I really hope they're just kidding to scare people, cause if not, that's just plain weird. Using ACTUAL dead people for a moive. *Shudders*

hhhm
i dont know why but i think i like it,
... damn i'm twisted....
Most horror films use pig parts for the really gory stuff. Eventually you would have people who donate their corpses, I'm sure.

I thought this was illegal in some way.

ilegal i dont know.....
unethical(?).... it may be but....... i dont know...
If someone choose to donate their body for something, I don't see how it's illegal. Maybe, I'm not an expert. It was just speculation anyway.

If you read it, it's filmed (somewhat) in a mortuary. It makes a kind of sense that the bodies would be real.
Mortuaries are not as 'secure' as you think. My friend has to go through the mortuary to get to one of his lectures. He didn't know it was a mortuary until his lecturer told him. He does Psychology, so you wouldn't expect to find a mortuary in their department. The Glasgow lecture room shortage strikes again i guess...

That would be quite a shock to learn! "oh by the way, this is a mortuary".
Here is a fun joke you could play on him, hide in one the places where they hold bodies and reach out and grab him as he passes by. HA! I would wet my pants! Then make your hiding place fittingly so. lol

it has to be a marketing tactic. No way real bodies can be used.
Now....they didnt say it was real DEAD bodies....perhaps they just are playing with words.

even if they did use real bodies for certain shots, you can bet they didnt use them for any gore scenes. that would def be a crime.

You took the words right out of my mouth.
I do enjoy scary games though. Movies are one thing, Resident Evil is another. No real looking people. When I see a person (or what looks like a person) get dismembered in any way, I think that's just weird. When I see a completely 3D looking fake person get dismembered, it doesn't phase me much. I don't know why, but it just happens that way.

Scary games rule! lol
I like to take out my anger from being scared so badly on the nearest object in the game.
I can't wait for Bioshock to come out! Supposed to be the scariest game ever created to date...

Fear is a deep, powerful force in most people. Primitively, it's the flight response. It allows us to remove ourselves from harms way faster than we normally can. In modern society, fear covers anything to do with your well being or the well being of those you care about. It's one of the easiest emotions to manipulate in people because it is so deep seated.
Not many of us enjoy dealing with thoughts of our own death; Even more so if that death is horrific. That's what motivates and captivates us into watching horror.
There's also the idea of the monster inside of us all. Creatures from another planet are scary, but the most frightening thing of all is the aspect inside of ourselves that we deny, the ability to torture and destroy other humans without compassion, empathy, or understanding. The idea of complete and total apathy towards being a decent human being.
Fear drives much of what people think and do without them consciously thinking about it. A personal example is the shotgun, flashlight and shells that sit on my nightstand. Is it logical to have those there? No. Have I ever been robbed? No. Will I be? Probably not. I still keep that shotgun there. Why? Because in the off chance I need it I would like to have it. It's an act motivated by forward thought and fear. Nothing more.
People in modern society also have lost a lot of their connection to death. Most people eat meat without seeing or dealing with it outside of the packaged form. Modern societies no longer embalm the dead and put them on display in the living room or in a mortuary. We bury them and erect a little stone, which is much more pleasant, but also disconnected. There is an inherent necessity for life and that's death. We have lost touch with that and horror film can help restore some of that primitive urge, even if it is fake and we know it.
Horror film is a fantastic way to connect to an emotion that will drive people to horrific acts that causes most people to question themselves and their actions.
Fear isn't entirely bad though. The same chemicals that pump through us that make us scared also make us rather powerful creatures. Humans have done some amazing things with gut-wrenching fear in them. Some even lived.
To be scared is natural. To continue to have judgment, reason, compassion, empathy, will and understanding while scared is what makes someone human.
I do believe I've overstated my argument.
