After a little talk with jdbnsn, I've decided to gave a second live to an old mod I've done a long time ago.

First the build of the casing

Mesh on the front and top, plexi on the sides

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSU0002.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSU0002.jpg)

and a 120mm at bottom

inside view from the rear
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSU000a.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSUa.jpg)

outside view from the front
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSU000b.jpg
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSUb.jpg)
Then I put the 2 PSU back to back with a plexi plate in between
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSUd.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSUd.jpg)

And fit them inside the case, passing the wires in the holes
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSU3.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSU3.jpg)

Add a round ccfl on the 120mm fan
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSU7.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSU7.jpg)

and finally build the back plate for the PSU with 2 Blue leds 80mm fans
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_PSU6.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/PSU6.jpg)
as you can see, it needed 2 wires connections, I could have put only one, splitted inside the case. But only a dual switch was needed.

The final piece with a laser cut grill to prevent for electric shocks ;)

Wow. But why would you need that many watts, that you'd need 2 PSU's?

At that time, the bigger PSU was at 420W I already had 6 HDDs, alot of lightning (wich I dont have anymore) more then 15 fans alot of OC. The second PSU was for the fans and lightning

This is done by connecting the Green wires on each power supply and the ground wires on each power supply. If I remember well, it's the 13th pin for the ground and the 14th for the power. Just google it, There's a couple of site that explain how. For my part, I cut all unwanted wires on the second PSU

Must run pretty hot with two PSU's together. But you have enough fans there. Good work.

Thx for the comments :)

As for the fans, what's inside the PSU is just a couple, With the mesh on top, I add a couple there too

since you did this and lived, what would you recommend to others, as far as safety goes?

What tools/gear did you use?

Thanks, I'm sure your brilliant mod has inspired others :D!

Nice mod!

Gives me some ideas for upcoming project (Interocitor Mk. 15) I may need to save space so maybe I could do something similar with 2 Micro ATX PSUs.

Nice!

Ouch!

Thank you sir. I'm working on a double system case and you just gave me an entirely new path to travel as far as mounting the PSU's.
