Hello,After thousands of hours searching for a good idea for a case,I stumbled on a very good 3D modelling site and found this: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l163/HayaiHakku/Copyofcamouflage1.jpg
My Uncle is going to give me some alluminum tommorow. Its thin but it'll do the job,I plan to put in wood STRATEGICALLY (I'm not stupid about this kind of stuff) in spots that need extra support, like the feet, and basically everywhere that holds heavy material such as the actual *guns* of the case. This isn't going to be a cannon turret such as the pictures but more like a machine gun turret.I already have the metal pipes cut down to size, but the pipes are very rough right now where I cut.If you look at the picture of the turret you should see somewhat of a platform,I suppose, where the feet are connected, this will be where the motherboard goes and will be big enough to hold it,so this should be a pretty good sized case.I'm thinking about buying a cheap external water cooler kit and then covering it up somehow.I'm thinking about giving the feet of the case the ability to pivot in and out,but I'm not quite sure how to get it to lock in position, any ideas on this?
Stay tuned!

i dont have any solutions for your issues right now, but i do have a suggestion.
how about an ammo box to go along with the whole thing. it could double as a radiator if you watercool it, and im pretty sure it would make things look a lot better.

Good idea, although if I tried designing an ammo box it wouldn't be able to be recognised as one,it would basically look like a box since i have no bullets to cover it up and make it more real.

thats the beauty of modding... you could try making some bullets. if you can find some plastic rods or wooden dowels, you can to carve them into a bullet shape. you just need really big bullets from the look of it. those are some huge barrels... they might as well shoot pop cans.

I like the idea. I would go with his advice to create bullets out of dowels or something similar (empty shotgun shells :p). Also from the looks of it, you might need an ITX mobo or a microATX on the bottom portion.

Major update.
No,theres no pics of progress simply because there isn't any progress.I am still, however, going to do a case mod, just one not so radical.I am pretty new to metal however I do have friends and family that could help me,but I feel I owe them to much to ask for that much assistance (it's very personal). This will continue,But this time I'm going to be using a cheapo' mid-tower case.

I'll get a picture drawn of the general idea.I wanted to try something similar to the Doom 3 case's LCD "Blast" Door (mechanically opens and closes) except it will cover the drive-bay and also will go down vertically and remain vertical where-as the Doom 3 case went Vertical to Horizontal. This will be done with the same mechanics as the Doom case but the actual door peice will be solid and none bending.I have thought alot about this and found that maybe a military styled case isn't the best for me,It's just not as customizable. For instance, say I wanted a side window, would a tank have a windo on it?I go for the effect is suppose,I've looked every where for something that would inspire me.Any ideas?I want a futuristic kind of case,so if you can find me something unique and cool looking that I like post pics here, please.Sorry for the let down of the turret idea, please accept the apoligy.

So I almost got the mechanism for the electronicly opening door figured out, since its only going to cover my cd drive its not going to need as much as what Paul's Doom 3 Case had.
Here is basically how my door is going to open:
The whole thing is going to be powered by a battery pack that HAD 2 LEDs attached, this was a really cool find,I used wire cutters to clip off 1 LED and left the other on.I then attached the motor to the wires that were clipped.I also added 2 extra battery packs. All togethor there is 4 AAAs and 2 AAs.The extra LED (the on thats still attached) is perfect for displaying if the motor is running.
I'm not sure how many times I'll change my mind, but I think I'm going to change cases because the water cooler I want for this case needs a 120mm fan hole in the back, and I personally don't feel like cutting and placing a 120mm fan in the back of the foxconn case displayed above. Here are some pics of the case and water cooler:

This is a really good deal, its only 24 dollars.

Thats a huge ass radiator. It looked like it came from a car :p. Anyways, neat design and keep up the good work. Might I suggest a few ideas though? Ill post a couple of sketchups of some ideas.

alright,sounds good,lets see your sketches!
hmmm, thats one interesting radiator. I'm interested to see where your going with this, like Novus said sketches or something might be cool. Also that picture of the turret has given me a few ideas. I think I might design something based off of it if you don't mind :).

This looks like its going to be sweet. Will the gun be functionable?

If the gun will be functional, make it shoot bbs.

That would be awesome: Make a turret case, and when you lock your work station, if someone trys to unlock it, and gets the password wrong, it whirs into life, orients itself to face them, then pummels them with BBs
