Anyone out there ever taken one apart? I have one with a busted fan and the other fan is on it's last leg, so they need to be replaced. I've taken the screws out that are attached to the heat sink, but it doesn't want to separate from itself. Here's a picture of the card..

Is there just some double sided tape that I need to work through? Also, what about putting it back together? I have thermal grease if it needs to be reapplied. Buying a new card or water cooling is out of the question right now.. I'm broke. Thanks!

as i recall, thermal compounds tend to get that way. a bit of wiggling (twist the heatsink back and forth, don't pull up) should get it free after a bit

also, before you reapply new thermal compund, get some isopropyl alcohol and clean the residue off the chips.

reassembly is pretty easy. the thermal compound will need to be reapplied.
