So... I added another mouse to the list of things that I have broken and now I am using my dads optical. It was working like a champ for about a week and months and months before I even started using it. But now it is being sporadic and freaking out. Anyone know why?

try cleaning the optics on the mouse with a fine lint free cloth and some anti-fog lens cleaner. other than that it could be the internal components themselves, tweaking out. or the last possibility is that you actually introduced little gremlins to it and they made friends.

Even a single hair can disrupt the laser and cause it to work improperly.

I don't know if this is your problem, but sometimes static makes my mouse freak out for like 5 seconds at a time. That gets really annoying, and I don't think there is any way to fix it. It just happens randomly for me.

I'm just going to say that the mouse has gone "bad". But thats okay, because I took my old Logitech Laser mouse and ...um... fixed it. lol Well here, I'll show you as pictures are much better than words.

I call it, the poor mans gaming mouse. It's oddly comfortable despite the lack of buttons and the quick electrical tape job. Oh and that goopy clearish stuff is hot glue. I got bored. lol.

Ah, wireless freedom. Nothing like it. lol

One other thing, in case you were wondering. It still has excellent anti-friction ability, I think the electrical tape acts almost like a giant anti-friction mouse skate. The laser reads off of just about any surface without ANY glitches too. ^^

I broke 2 computer parts this week, it was awful....I never break computer related things. How much did it cost me to get new ones... 0$. I went out to a computer store, bought the exact things I broke, returned the broken ones later and got my money back.

You saw nothing.

It's not like nobody else has done that.


Break it, buy a new one, keep the good one, return the bad one, free repair. Sadly, it messes with the economy. But still fun...

When you have the best gun you can buy and you are up against a noob who seems to have unlimited life... you get pretty friggen ticked off after he kills you 6 times IN A ROW. I guess thats what I get for trying to spawn kill him lol.
