this is my first ever worklog. hooray. i formulated this idea that i wanted to make a case inspired by the beautiful Fender Stratocastor. i'm not going to go too into detail because i don't like typing a lot. soo... this is my rough design.

lovely, huh? except now instead of the big circle window with the fender F in there it's going to be a guitar pick shaped window. i still don't know about the bottom rectangle window either. eheh.

i got started cutting my first blowhole last night in the bezel. (this case was found on the street btw, someone tried to paint it and i guess gave up, lol) and i began filing and sanding the rough edges out. i then gave up and decided it'd be faster to sand with a dremel, which i will be getting in a few hours.

unless your retarded like me and still can't figure the damn thing out after hours of playing with it <_<

But Google Sketchup has quickly become the standard for case mooders to do 3d designs, if you can figure it out, its cool, but not everyone is good at drawing on the PC. Photoshop is still my best friend.

Anywho looks like a cool idea. Is that case plastic or is that the paint you were talking about? Also a helpful tip is to make our hole small and sand it out to the right size, I nearly ruined my first case by trying to cut it exactly the size of the fan. It may take longer but the final product will be much cleaner than if you mess up.

you know...

nothing conveys the vision quite like a quality mod. so skip the sktech-up and work on the mod, thats what i do ;)

btw, black and white > all!!!

yes, if your gonna mod, use protection. ;)

shards of metal in the eye are not fun. in fact theyre the opposite of fun. which would be...um....not fun.

You know what else isn't fun? Hot sparks... In the eye.

Hell, I wouldn't worry so much about the dust mask if you don't want to. Just pick your nose afterwords =D
