You can't make one GameCube sized, but you can make one pretty small, here's a link to a few cases that might suit your needs, with internal PSU and all, you just won't be able to fit many drives:

EDIT: One other thing, make sure you get a motherboard that is short enough to fit, such as one with only a few PCI slots. If you have any questions about parts, go ahead and ask, there are plenty minds here that can help if you need it.

I just saw recently that shuttle released an extreme gaming pc of some sort. I don't know where I saw that though. Google 'shuttle gaming pc' or something.

There's a thread about the shuttle gaming box under Technology Talk on this forum.

You can get smaller than a gamecube, but it's a thin client and probably not what you're wanting. Still, very cool.

Yeah, the smallest for gaming will prolly be a micro atx. Smaller than a regular size, only one or two hard drives and one, possibly two, CD drives. 1 atx card and 1, maybe 2, PCI slots.

If you search micro-itx you will find some that will support dual-core, 64bit, extreme edition glory and also have PCI-Express. After that you will want to get a 1U server PSU and a small(er) but powerful video card. From there yuo should just build your own case.

I've done some pretty small PCs before that can play games. I built mine in an NES, and it is now very outdated, but it is possible to build a small PC for gaming.

[EDIT]
UMPC stands for "Ultra Mobile PC". If you search for that you will find some pretty small PCs. None of them can game, but they are small small small.

That depends on your definition of what a PC is. You can run Linux on a Gameboy Advance & an Ipod after all...so where do you draw the line?

That's not a fair statement, it depends on what you want to use it for. Not everyone wants to play Oblivion with all the settings at full.

What about the little Pico pcs? This guy built a cluster the size of a game cube... http://slipperyskip.com/page18.html

It is running linux though.. anyways, it's cool. You can even use CF cards as hdds if you buy adaptors.
