We have a "best game" thread but not a "best MMORPG thread" and I want to buy a MMORPG with some of my Christmas money. So what do you guys think is the best MMORPG out there right now? The best I have played was Runecraft, it had great gameplay despite the not so great graphics. But I would like a game that has both you know?

I was looking into WoW. How is the gameplay and graphic quality in that game?

Thanks guys ...and occasional girl. ^^

Wow is one of those games that is hard to describe.

It is great as there are so many people and you can be just wondering around and be with people. While with ones like guild wars you have to make groups if you want help you cant just meet up with people in the country side.

The graphics are fine they aren't me to be Fear style graphic goodness but they are suitable and they are lots of nice effects with spells.

Wow has many amazing things to like weather and dungeons, lots of players ahh you have to see it to understand the greatness of WOW. While the Everquest series where ok. I can see the guild wars people are gonna start throwing stones but WoW has to be the best MMORPG ever the reviewers agree.

Either WOW or L2.
You can also try EVE, but I've never played it so cant tell you how it is.

If you want something a little dated that still has many players, try Phantasy Star Online. It was one of the best games for the dreamcast and it is trying to make a comeback. On top of that there is no monthly fee. Woohoo.

Ok lets clear this up... Pay games suck...
Wow is overrated i was expectin a MASSIVE game but after 30 mins i was bored.. so i thought ah! ill keep playing.. maybe a lil thing hidden around the corner.. but no its all the same.. So now i was pee'd that i just bought the game and payed 3 months subscription.. THE GAME IS OVERRATED! ok secondly GW was good when it was just GW now theres 2 more expansions and it sucks...

The reason im saying this is because i played fully free MMORPG's before i played pay MMORPG's which means that if im gna pay for a game thats got a lil bit more quality graphics than a free game Like rappelz or hero online or Kal online(which im playing atm =))(if u wanna play i can be your teacher :D)
but anyways i suppose u have to try the game to know your wasting your money... so meh its up 2 u

MERRY CHRISTMAS :P:santa: :santa: :santa::P

I'm currently playing MU. It's hard but if you find a private server or set one up with some friends you can have some fun mucking around.

I think I am going to go with WoW. It seems that even fans of other games still mention WoW as one of the better games currently in the world. It sounds like it has great gameplay like runescape too? Chopping up beasts gets old after awhile, you gotta change it up a bit you know? ^^

I even created my own name from scratch! lol it took 2 hours and I just said F it. Aeldemir :hurt:

Which is better? WoW or Final Fantasy? Or is it that one has good gameplay and semi-good graphics where as the other has good graphics and semi-good gameplay?

I've always been a fan of Final Fantasy. Those games are really well done, despite the long and many movies. I suppose those are kind of nice in their own way though, but when my blood is racing and I am battling monsters, I don't want to take a 5 minute time out! ...this especially applies to those scenes where it goes something like battle/movie/battle/movie/battle etc. ><

You should try L2, there are a handful of private servers for every gamestyle, check it out: http://lineage2.com/
I've been playing L2 for more than a year now, but recently dropped it.

Because of this article, I agree completely.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Warcraft:_The_Burning_Crusade

So this is the plan, I will start the World of Warcraft free 10 day trial period to evaluate the product. IF I like it, I will then buy burning crusade. Which just happens to be released approx. six days after my free 10 day trial period expires. <insert pwnage here>

I played L2 since Taiwanese Beta, the graphics on that game are really pretty slick. And I like the game altogether, but a lot of people have issues with the level grind, it takes so much XP to level. I still play on emu servers occasionally, but I'm actually reactivating my Warlock on WoW, gotta get some gold saved up for the expansion.

does no1 here playeve online? :alien:

Its pretty cool but sooooo verrryyyy slowwww!

relies heavily on the amount of time you have played rather then how good you are.....something which games like gw and wow seem to be against.

The best MMORPG ever was Ultima Online.

I played WoW but quickly realized that 90% of the pop was about 12.

I currently play EQ2 with some buddies but after awhile it is all pretty much the same thing.

I tried EVE Online twice, the first time for about a month, the second time for about 4 months and it is the absolute most boring RPG ever.

I just got a hookup into the Vanguard:SoH Beta so I will let you know how that one is in a few days.

did you guys know that a new MMORPG for LOTR is coming out? google it, you can sign up for beta. The video's aren't all that bad i can tell you. It seems to me like they're trying to make another wow copy cat game but with some different features and attack styles and such.

I would like to see a game better than WoW. I mean, WoW is great, but I just don't feel truly satisfied.

This is what I want in an MMORPG...

1. Has more features than life itself
2. Graphics are at least equal to that of Oblivion.

NOW we are talking. What? $59.99USD for the game itself and then $24.99USD a month to play? lol Is it sad that I think that sounds reasonable?

*why are the prices always a penny short of a dollar?!? lol

Keep dreaming.

Its a marketing technique some one would be more inclined to buy something if it cost $99.99 then $100.

it makes the mind believe something is cheaper then it actually is, you only see the first number and think "oh look only 90 dollars...."

if i were you, snow, id do what you said, play it for 10 days, get Burning Crusade if you like it, if not, find something else. personally, i cant stand Guild Wars gameplay.

theres also a Warhammer (not 40K *sigh*) MMORPG coming out, but its basically gonna be WoW with sharper graphics and different races/classes.

Don't get me started. (Barrens Chat)

lol, on Onyxia Barrens Chat has moved to Stranglethorn Vale...

Ive played a few MMO's in my time...

Kal Online - Played for about 2 years. Takes forever to lvl 50+ (Free)
Second Life - Played for about 8 months. Made a business and made about $300 off of it. Play it on and off. (Free unless you buy ingame money)
Navyfield - Played for about 1.5 years so far. Uber fun. (11.99 per month)
Eve Online - Played for 2 days so far. Not sure if I like it or not. (14.99 per month)

I like my WoW account. My brother insists he'll play with me but he's always running off to help the guild he's in. I have Eve but haven't been able to play. Maybe now with the new system I can. But I think I might have to give up with payed MMORPGs got some financial things coming up.

What I'm waiting for is the Stargate MMORPG. That looks fun and my dad has even seemed interested in it.
