Is this a good supply? I've gotta replace my 350 with something more powerful.

You know...if your a gamblin' man, thats an ok PSU to go for. I've heard people gloat about how nice they are, and I've heard others talk about how they just about lit on fire, and ended up with a room full of nasty smelling smoke. I don't know exactly the threat of your PC catching fire if you buy one of those, I'm pretty sure if that was an issue with those, they would have fixed it by now, but who knows.

It seems ok as long as your not going for "new" technology in the rest of your build. Some of the new video cards require two 12v rails(one for GFX and the other for the rest of the PC). And its obviously no good for SLI setups.

You need to check the version aswell if you plan on using it on older equipment. My PSU is V2.03 with a -5v lead in the ATX connector. I cant use any other version of PSU because they dont have that -5v lead. I had to go to 5 diffrent computer stores before i found one that would work.

eh. So it's probably better to pay out the ass for a 500W supply than to go for low cost?

Thats cheap. A PSU like that would cost around $60 here. :/

Well, think about it this way, you get what you pay for. Those freebie ones that come with cases are more likely to fail than the $100 ones you see out there.

Well, my scenario is this:

I'm ditching the Intel buildup and going wiht Athlon 64/939 board. A PCI-E graphics card I found, that I really like, recommends 500 watts; my power supply kicks out 350.
