Well as originally seen in this (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=573)thread the Hammer Mod takes a very skilled hand and tons of paitence.

My old rig. NF7-s, Barton 2500, 9800 AIW, 2x160 Seagate Sata drives Raid-0. Pelt cooling on the CPU (MCW462-UHT) and the GPU (MCW50-T) BIX 2 Rad. Watercooled northbridge BIX Rad. 2 Seperate cooling loops. My Testbed for the site i was writing for in '03. My Baby...
Get out of the hardware review scene for a year. Remove the pelt cooling and bring the system back to stock speeds on air. Get the itch to start writing again in '05 and join a site to write for. While cleaning up The Lab (aka "The Garage" as noted in another thread) proceed to place the entire case (hardware and all) precariously on the edge of the coffee table it resides on to clean behind it. Walk away to take care of something else only to hear the crashing sound of the rig hitting the floor. I was frozen like a deer in headlights. After some choice words that prolly scarred my kids for life on the other side of the house, i went to check the damage. Couldn't be too bad, it only dropped a few feet on the concrete garage floor. Well thanks to the EXCELLENT drive cage latching mechanism that is on the Cheiftec cases the 2 hdd's decided to take a tour of the inside of the case. First stop, the freshly RMA'd 9800 AIW where it took such souviniers as the molex connector as well as a bunch of resistors and other crap i dont know the name of. After that little trip it stopped at the southbridge area of the motherboard to just ahniliate the traces on the board. Before the end of the tour the drives committed hari-kari and figured the connectors on the drives looked better attached to the sata cables instead of the drives.
After carefully dissasembling (*note* ripping it out furiously) the hardware i proceded to hammer mod the various components ending with the case.
Final result:

I will be glad to tutor anyone on the fine art of the Hammer Mod for a small fee. 8)
