Well i cant afford a suit of samurai armor so ill go with the ninja costume

go get some 1/16 inch or 1/8 inch copper sheet metal, and some reasonably thin copper wire and silk thread and make your own plate mail suit.

Totally different things. Do some research on feudal Japan. The samurai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samurai)warrior had honour and faced his opponent down. The Ninja (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninja)was created to destroy samurai, using the dirtiest tactics possible: they would attack at night, without warning, and in numbers, using distance weapons, poisons, and hidden weapons.

Remember, the Samurai was more a social class than anything else. Equivalent to a Knighthood in the UK, they had the twin honours of being able to carry both a Katana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katana) and a Wakizashi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wakizashi) as a Daisho (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daish%C5%8D), and they had the right to strike down any peasant who they deemed had offended them without rebuke.

It's interesting stuff. Socially, Samurai distinguished themselves not through their warrior abilities, but by the quality of their tea parties. Many samurai had their greatest victories and the reputation of their tea parties written on their grave.

I'm quite interested in Japenese culture, and couldn't let that one slip past. Ninjas were nasty, to say a Ninja is 'close enough' is an insult to anyone who claims to be a Samurai, or to anyone with honour of any kind. If you would shoot a sleeping man in the back of his head, you're a Ninja. If you would let him get up, get ready, arm himself, have his breakfast, say goodbye to his loved ones, go into a public place and fight him, then you're a Samurai. Don't mix up dogs and wolves.

Interesting Historical lesson, thx. I'm also very interested in asian culture, more into chinease culture, but both hare mens of honnor, witch is is really important to me :up:

In my honest opinion i would rather be a samurai, a person with honor and respect behind them, personaly I see the katana as a thing of beauty not a weapon :up:
