I'm planning to buy a high-end gaming pc so here's the rig of my future gaming pc and plan to overclock from 2.4 GHz to 2.6GHz

i would get RETAIL mobo, not OEM becuase you will need all those cables, get a better powersupply. also why are you going with SATA II hard drives?

Where to get retail DFI LANPARTY UT Ultra-D? Which is better Power Supply?? This motherboard can only work with IDE ATA-133 HD and SATAII HD so I choose SATAII HDD based on fast performance.

OCZ have some really nice modular PSU's. Helps a lot to keep the clutter in your case to a minimum.

Monarch and Mwave both seem to be close on the price for the mobo your looking for. Also Make sure your one the 1.08 Bois. I have gotten better perforance and OCing has improved with they 1.08 bois.

I thought sata was faster due to faster spin rates and higher buffer capacities. I guess since I haven't gone that route, I just took that at face value. Is this not the case???

SATA is indeed faster than IDE. The maximum transfer rate for SATA 3G is 300MB/s, which is silly, because today's HDs don't need that kind of throughput, but it's nice to have. Plus, some SATA HD's (newer ones) support Native Command Queing, which allows the HD and it's controller to inteligently record data requests, so they can be fetched faster.

Who told you SATA II is faster than IDE?

Duh I found out in internet that SATAII is faster than SATA-150 but I was wondering if it's worth to purchase it?
