It would have been a pleasure to help with that one, too bad I dont know trees.. Other problem, is that Those trees are in the "native language" wich means that they are not always translate; we use them as is.

yes, i found cedrum just now actually, so it looks like its both cedrum and cedrus. just be careful with the second names... adansonia digitata is specific to the african species, and any of those with two names are going to be similar. different names usually mean different regions when dealing with plants. thats why i only gave one name at a time, so you dont have to start dealing with a whole bunch of specifics.

just in case any of you dont know, ficus is a fig tree. yummy.

<edit> now i got it, a fig tree is related with the ficus family?

well binomial nomenclature is hard. biology itself isnt hard until you get into molecular stuff, and genetics.

theres not guarantee that a tree will make fruit. i dont know if yours will. if its outside, and get enough sun and heat... maybe. if its inside its not very likely. my friend had one at his old house that was HUGE, and it had tons of fruit every summer. we just had to fight the birds of it.

so lets see:

a fig tree has big leevs like a palm right, and the fruits look like litle bags

and a ficus is a ficus no fruit (right)

well ficus is the latin name for the fig tree genus, so they're both pretty much the same. maybe the common name ficus that people use everyday refers to the fruitless fig trees. its possible to engineer non-fruiting trees.

and yes, the fig trees ive seen have big round leaves with white veins and they look thick and waxy.
