i just got the 600 series processor from intel and was wondering if there were any 64-bit operating systems out yet

there is windows XP-64bit and some Linuxs

i wouldnt worry too much about upgrading your OS just yet anyways. theres not really anything that benifets from a 64 bit OS

there are lot of things that benefit from a 64bit OS. the only problem is to get 64bit drivers and programs/games utilizing the 64bit technology.

any of the Linux with the x64 will run faster and better on the 64bit proc. As for windows X64 it is lacking in the support side and 95% of the stuff you can run on it will be running in 32bit because 64bit is not supported.
