Okay, so i get this nice new gaming desktop. but its being brought down by wire management, i need ****ing wire management. Like i have cables running everywhere and it looks completely ugly. Anyone have a tutorial or at least a walkthrough on where to put the cables and where to run them? Thanks guys.

Although I am not an authority on cable management techniques, the overall procedure is a labor of love. You need to take a step back and visualize all of the routes your wires need to follow to get from point A to B, then find a way to hide them or cleanly run them. It may be helpful to take everything out of the case and wire one component at a time. Here is a thread of Airbozo's where he did some CM work, there are many others that you can find using the search function.

Easy way : get the smallest tie wraps you can find, some of those plastic tubes that you can use for wire grouping/stealthing, and buy those round IDE cables if you need them.

I hate IDE cables.... They're so wide! Very hard to manage them. SATA on the other hand... =]

Just buy cables ties and a set of snips and that cleans everything up. Also you can use cable sleeving. There are many types to choose from in all diffrerent colors.
Cable sleeves
Heat shrink
spiral Wrap
Split tubing
Here is a great online international supplier.

thanks man
the secret to using ribbon cables is to have LONG, ridicously long !
the yelow one you see in there is 1m long, that way you can run it where ever you wish, and when you get the path you desire but still have a few cm left you just fold it
as for the HDDs i'm realy proud of that, I had the idea long before having an internet connexion, so its, in a way an original idea, I say in a way because there are people who did it long before me

I'm also using that technic. Help a lot :)
And.... just take it slow, one step, er... one wire at a time. Once you get them from point A to point B hidden do the next one. Eventually you will be able to bundle them. Look over your case and consider any hidden channels or areas as good cable conduits.

speaking about you'r case, if you get you'r self into a tight spot, don't forget you can cut it, make you'r own chanel, in my case it was not needed buw as you know cases differ a lot....
btw, post a photo of you'r case, maybe we can come with some practical solutions

You can cut away wires you don't need from the PSU. Surprise surprise, i wrote a tutorial on it and never posted it. I have at least 3 or 4 tutorials that i haven't hosted here yet.
If you PM me your e-mail, I'll send you a zip of the photos and some pointers. You'll figure it out. ;)

I see im not the only one who has issues keeping cathodes where they want them lol. As you can see from this pic, mines fallen for about the third time. The sticky stuff on the velco they give to hold them keeps getting too hot and comng off the roof of the case :-( I'll just use some duct tape next time.
My wiring is better then some, but not as good as you guys. I seem to have this isue of every cable eithe being 6 inches too long, or 3 inches too short to run them where i want them to go...and Doh, how embarrassing, a peice of electrical tape lost adhesion in the lower right.

I learned this little trick when I did a dual PSU setup in one of PCs and I noticed nobody has posted it... In a lot of cases nowadays, there is a gap between the panel the motherboard mounts on and the right side case panel... This is a GREAT area for hiding wires... With my dual PSU setup, I had all of the molex connectors dangling from one power supply (powered the motherboard and fans only) and all my drivers and lighting ran off of the 2nd PSU... So that left a lot of extra wires... And like I said... Throw them behind that panel... Cleaned everything up real nice... Sadly... The site where I had the pictures of that dual PSU setup has gone offline... If I can dig them up somewhere, I'll post them on here...
