I was just about to go to bed, when I hear someone talking. Everyone else is sleeping, and no one's outside. I listen closer, and some AM talk show can faintly be heard coming out of the speakers of my TV. But...nothing's on! This is the funniest thing I've ever witnessed! Jus thad to tell you guys about it. Call 'em at 877-367-2526 and I'll hear ya!

Edit: ROTFLMAO!!!! I just google'd the phone number, and it's an XM Show! FOX News Talk! LINK (http://www.xmradio.com/pdf/fox_news_talk_schedule.pdf)

IF you have cable tv some cable companies also have radio stations. And maybe there is some setting on your TV where if there is no picture it turns of the screen but still plays sound and your cable box was on a radio station.

I just couldn't believe it. It was playing when it and everything else around was off. I even unplugged the TV and it was still producing sound.

I've seen this happen before.

Someone might know alot more about this than me, but I think the basics are like this.

Speakers are just cones with magnets on the back. When they vibrate they make noise. Radio waves can make these magnets vibrate if the waves are strong enough.

I bet there is a radio tower somewhere close to your house.

I'd bet the reason you tv speakers are doing it is because they are small. That's why other larger speakers in your house arn't doing it.

The whole radio waves and magnet interaction is the thing I'm not super sure about. But I've seen it happen on a way bigger scale working with military equipment and having a radio nearby that was not on or plugged in.

It was uber creepy to say the least. +Rep for cool creepy story

I'd understand picking up an AM frequency, but an XM Radio Station? Also, I'm nowhere near towers, nor high-wattage power lines.

Ok that is weird. I'm glad I don't live in your house.

Cool though.
