I did that a long time ago. Turn on Internet Connection Sharing, and install a 2nd NIC in your PC. Connect the XBOX and the PC with a crossover cable. Cool stuff.

Couldn't you just buy a router for $35? Not being up on the xbox, I am not sure...

From the first post, it sounded like you wanted to share the internet connection from your PC with your xbox, which would mean a 2nd NIC and activating Internet Connection Sharing. In your case, just plug the xbox right into the router. Any other questions, just let us know.

There is also a hack you can do is where you can system link two xbox's over the internet and have an 8 player game with four of the players on the other side of the world rather than in the next room.

Never played Halo on PC, so I don't know about that.

Don't work they use different multiplayer systems. (And thats only for Halo 1 anyway)

thanks for the help

I have been plugging my xbox into a router with a 50ft ethernet cord. My xbox is right next to my computer (which connects to the router with the same ethernet)

I basicaly just dont want to be switching the ethernet cord back and fourth, and i want to be able to play LIVE and go on the internet at the same time.

That makes more sense on why you were asking. Here are some options. I'm placing them in the order that I would prefer. Keep in mind that I have everything on hand to perform any/all of these options.

1. Run another Ethernet cable dedicated for the XBOX. (least amt of latency/lag)
2. Put a switch or a hub in your room, then you would go Router --> 50' ethernet cable --> Switch/Hub --> then a small cable for the PC, and a small cable for the XBOX. (middle of the road on latency/lag only because there is an extra hop in the network)
3. Install a 2nd NIC in your PC, enable Internet Connection Sharing, then run a crossover cable to the XBOX. (most latency/lag because the computer is essentially converted to another router. There is an extra hop in the network, and the computer must process and route all traffic for the XBOX)

I hope this helps.
